How easy did you find it to be accepted on your chosen path? I find several of our coven members have faced a real struggle with this especially with family members.

very easy. especially with family, as it's the default setting. going elsewhere would be accepted, but unusual, in my family.
and among friends, they all knew. people know with me, rather than get told. which is odd, as I don't dress like the sort of people that go out of their way to be noticed, or wear excessive, obviously "occult" jewellery.
I just dress normally.
but people know.

I don;t particulary wear obviously different clothes/ jewellery either but people know.
My family were very accepting of my choice of path as it runs in and out of our family history. Some of my coven members find that parents and siblings are those who are most objectionable when they announce their chosen path. I think much of this ill feeling comes from a lack of education and information about alternative paths.

I guess it depends from where you are coming from. I don't belong to any religion or (practice, set of beliefs) but I know a lot of people that have been discriminated against their beliefs. especially those that are coming from very religious families who happen to think that being a witch is bad and evil, when is not. Religious people sometimes are very judgmental with their family members..

It hasn't been all easy, but it's been alot less rough than I had originally expected, back when I was younger and in the broom closet ^_^'
People don't always react nicely, but more often they're apt to purposefully ignore me, once they find out...which suits me fine.

Hi witchywillow,
I'm not a witch and on't follow the path but I started a social network some months ago and from their I was surprised at how my members all seemed to be witches. I got to know them and now they have become good friends, from this I started another site Blessedb that was especially for my members of this way of life. I'm so glad I did because I have come to know more about this way that I just didn't know about, it's a lovely way to be and I really enjoy getting to know more about it from the posts blogs etc that my members post. We even every month meet up on messenger where our high priestess holds online rituals, it's really enjoyable.

I walk a fine line as a teacher that I need to be very careful who I share my beliefs with and who I don't. I think it is sad that we have this struggle in America, yet I'm not sure I know how to change it either.

As for my immediate family... My siblings and father don't care. My mother and stepfather are almost disturbing in their fundamental practices... IF my mother has ever really paid attention to my altar being in my living room or what it says in my Myspace page, surprisingly, she's been silent. I know that she doesnt approve. The history of clergy in mmy family dates prior to the 1200s, and most of the extended family is devout as well. They choose their path, I choose mine. They dont have to like my choice, or even really accept it, just let me alone to make my decisions in peace and not be condemning.
