PUMA. Help me understand the reasoning... | | | | I was... still am... a huge Hillary supporter. I am a New Yorker and I am glad we at least get to keep Hil as our Senator. But Obama is the Democratic nominee now. We need to support our party. Are you so upset that Hil didnt get the nomination that you wil jeopardize your parties futur? I dont get that. From what I can understand PUMAs feel like thier vote didnt matter because Hillary didnt win. Do you think your vote should have counted twice? Everyone got a chance to vote. The Democrats chose Obama. I am sorry if you feel cheated, but he won fair and square. Now its time for the Democrats to take back the White House. We cant do that if the Hilldog supporters are so jaded that they vote for war mongering Republicans. PUMA people... what is your reasoning? | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | I keep hearing about these PUMAs, but I've never met one. The women I know who supported Hillary are disappointed, but not stupid. My own pick out of the original field didn't even make it as far as my state's primary, but that didn't stop me from placing a vote for the next most qualified person on the ballot. Hillary isn't on the presidential ticket, but that won't stop me from voting for the person on the ballot that most agrees with my beliefs and policies. | | | | | | | evanslf (406)

| | Of course, with such a close primary battle, it is understandable that Hillary supporters are disappointed. They may feel cheated but that is unfair: the votes took place and were counted fairly, I don't recall there being allegations of 'hanging chads' etc. Fact is that Hillary lost a close primary battle, Obama won because he was better organised at getting his supporters out in the caucus states in particular. If Hillary had organised her campaign better, I believe she would have won. There may be some Hillary supporters who will cross over to McCain, though I think it will be less than is often talked about. As the campaign goes on, and they find out what McCain and Palin stand for (banning abortion, even in cases where a woman has been raped - at least that seems to be Palin's view), one would hope that despite their anger/disappointment, they will come back to the Dem fold and support Obama. That said, I suspect there will be a minority who won't and there is really not much the Dems can do about this. | | | | | | | WH Budget Proposal House Budget Cmte. review today. | | Hi Tee, As you know I am not an American, but I certainly agree with your line of reasoning. I have followed the American election closely, and I too was/am a Hillary supporter but Obama is the party candidate now and I don't feel that he is a lot different from Hillary in his ideas. Quite frankly I am amazed that the race is so close, I had thought that Obama would be away out in front by now. | | Thank you for saying this! I have been an obama supporter but i had friends that placed their vote for hillary, they are sticking with their party though. I wonder how PUMA's can switch parties like that. I mean if you are a Hillary supporter or even a Clinton family support why would you jump parties. does it really seem like a smart move. Its almost like these PUMA people are trying to "stick it to the man" but by doing that they are hurting their future and their families future. | | 1--a lot of this hillary voter switching thing is a LIE. the republican party want ppl to think there is havoc on the democratic party side. you should see the cartoons on politico.com they have a great one about this very issue. are SOME not going to vote obama. sure. that is natural, it happens in every election. who SHOULD BE LOOKING OUT IS MCCAIN. i hear several candidates like ron paul are running as 3rd party nominees. also bob barr. bob barr is pulling double digits in some states. those votes take away from mccain. you don't hear so much about this in the news, because the republicans aren't driving it. they don't want anyone to worry/fret or jump to the other side. and obama won't drive it because he wants this election about the issues. just thank goodness he said go ahead to 527 groups. | | | | | | | | | | Find Attorneys Need a Lawyer? | | Tee, this subject drives me crazier! I just don't get it. For anyone, woman or man, who supported Hilary, to switch to that other ticket, (sorry, I can't even say the names, ~~shudder~~) MAKES NO SENSE!! Fine, she didn't win - and no one wanted her to win more than I did, that's for sure - look - I wasn't a supporter of hers only because she's a woman, for godsake! I supported her because of who she was and what she was about. The fact that she's a woman was simply a huge bonus. And these women, these brainless, vapid, ridiculous women, who are now supporting 'them' because there's now a woman vice presidential candidate, need to be taken out and slapped upside the head for being so goddamfucking STUPID! Hilary and the republican vice presidential candidate are diametrically opposed!!!!! Voting for ok, it's too hard not to say it, so I will - Palin because she's a woman makes about as much sense as voting for McCain because he looks like a turkey and you love turkeys! Those women better get a last look at life as they now know it, because if McCain and Palin get elected, they can kiss their rights goodbye. It's going to be like going backwards in time. I can't even continue with this. I become a raving maniac when I talk about this. I just CAN NOT wrap my head around that kind of thinking! I mean, have I stepped into the political twilight zone or something? I hate politics! But I do have a brain. And I hope to high heaven that these other women wake up and discover their own. I also hate being put in this position of having to vote for someone I don't like because my candidate didn't get the nomination, but I'll be damned if I ever vote republican. I can't breathe right now, Tee. I've gotta go get a shower or something. Please tell me that this won't happen, Tee, please tell me. Please tell me that we won't have a republican president. | | Yes I am so in agreement with you. I hold both Bill and Hillary dear to my heart. Bill's speech and Hillary's at the convention reminded me what great orators they are. But so is Obama, he has a presence. The otheh two, even if I were in that party do not insire anything and in fact seem very scary to me. I do not want my rights to evaporate and that is the way they seem headed. I know my Mom is on the fence now, but you know I really , really wonder deep down if it does not boil down to prejudices they hold, bit will not express publically. We never really know what people's true motivations are, do we? | | | | novataylor (2165)

| | Your mom's generation is the same as my mom's, Barbie. And yes, I absolutely think that their prejudices affect their voting decisions as well as decisions in their every day lives, just like the rest of us. Shoot, my mom still has, although she fights them, preudices about Japanese! It makes sense though, when you see it through her eyes. It's not something that she likes, but it's there, try as she might to make it disappear. It's just part of who she is, how she grew up, and most importantly, the times she lived in. But she's a thinking person, thank god, and she will vote as I will in this presidential election. What excuse some of these other women have though is beyond me. How can a woman vote for another woman who's completely anti-choice, and stands behind a man who is opposed to equal-pay-for-equal-work laws? And other things too, of course, but those are two that come to mind immediately and are such huge enormous issues. They need to get their heads out of their butts and wise up or else they'll find themselves wishing they'd done differently. And wishing is all they're going to be able to do too. The shame of it is enormous. | | | | | | | Whidbey Island Real Estat Small farms, cabins, waterfront properties IngramParker.com | add comment | | | |

| | Barack Obama ran a clean campaign and he won the primary fair and square. Sometimes I get the feeling that some Hillary Clinton supporters want him to just hand over his nomination to her even though their candidate got fewer delegates. They also want Barack Obama to pay off Hillary Clinton's campaign debts. This kind of action reeks of blackmail. I don't like it one bit. If they didn't like the process, then they should try and change it to their advantage at a future date. But to change the rules of the game in the middle of the game, to their liking, is not fair to those who voted for Barack Obama. I've supported many Democratic candidates, in the past, who've lost during the primaries. Not once did I ever think of crossing over to the other side because of this. What those who are now supporting the Sarah Palin/John McCain ticket fail to realize is this: If they are the reason Barack Obama loose the general election, their goals of ever seeing a Democratic woman in the White House will never come to be. Their actions will cause so much hatred that there will be an irreversable backlash. We've always supported the Democractic Nominee regardless of race or color and now they want to change that. God bless them if they really believe that the Sarah Palin/John McCain ticket will work in their best interests. Lloyd | | | | | | | | | | puma shoes Shop New Season Shoes now! | | As a former Hillary supporter I can only say I thought it was very nice what Senator Obama did for her. I was very happy when she came out and asked her supporters to support Barack. I had already done that because I couldn't stomache the thought of 4 more years. I think that the PUMA group is just wanting a woman in office. I mean if the voters were actually voting for Hillary because of her policial views and policies how could they vote for McCain? From what I have read about Palin she doesn't share much beyond gender with Hillary. It doesn't make any sense. | | | | | | | | | | PUMA Clearance Clearance. Shoes On Clearance. Sale! | | Hon, you'll never be able to understand the reasoning because there IS no reasoning. I'm surprised that none of our conservative friends have weighed in on this but since they've passed so far, let me tell you some of what they would probably say: They'll tell you the Hillary supporters are angry at the Democratic Party because they believe she was given a raw deal and that they're angry because Obama didn't choose her as his V.P. They'll also tell you they feel their vote didn't count and that they were "disenfranchised" in the primaries. My answers to them are that while some people are obviously loyal to their party, that doesn't mean they base their vote on those who "run" the party instead of for the actual CANDIDATE who was nominated by the party's VOTERS. If someone is a Democrat and supported Hillary they'll find it pretty hard to find a single issue to vote for the GOP on. I'm not sure Hillary herself even wanted to be V.P. or that she and Bill wanted to go through the hassles they'd no doubt be put through in the vetting process. As for feeling they'd been disenfranchised or that their vote didn't count, this is the first time in decades that the nomination hadn't been locked up long before my state's primary so what's the big deal? I think the right is doing the best they can to keep the stories about the discontent of Hillary's supporters going strong because they're the ones that are desperate. They know in their heart that woman or not Palin isn't likely to pull in more than a very small number of Hillary's voters and those were probably actually Republicans to begin with and part of Limbaugh's idiotic "Operation Chaos" movement. I keep hearing about these PUMA's myself but I've yet to meet a single one!
