One of my bowling team members made this for me several years ago. I think it's so unique. It's an ashtray but has never been used for this purpose. I keep it on a stand in our family room. Do you have a special craft someone made for you that you treasure and keep on display?

When someone gives you something that has special meaning to you it well alway take a special place. I have a small Christmas Ornament that was given to me by a friend who I worked with. She made and sold crafts and I was admiring one and she gave it to me. Each year it gets placed front and center on the Christmas tree.

Was nice of your co-worker to give you the ornament. Now you can think about this person every year during the holidays. Thanks for responding.

My granddaughter made me a banner when she was about 2 or 3....with her handprints on it...and is says I love you grammy! It hangs in my guest bedroom that will someday soon become my office.....I will never get rid of it!

That's really a creative gift. Yes, I have the things my Goddaughter has made for me, and the presents given to me from students back when I used to teach. Homemade gifts are often the most meaningful.

Any handmade gift is important. I know how long it takes me to make an afghan or a craft with plastic canvas. Forever and a day..lol Thanks for responding.

Hi carolbee, That ashtray looked really nice and very unusual, it is nice to receive unusual gifts like that, my brother in-law made a coffee table when he was young lad in school and when I got married to his brothet he gave it to us as a wedding present as he couldn't afford to buy us anything, but that coffee table is the only thing that we treasure and its by my side right now. I have never used it as an ashtray. It's too unique to ruin it. A homemade gift is something most people treasure. Thanks for responding.

hello carolbee what a lovely treasure that you have there. and i do not blame you one bit for not wanting to use that as a regular ashtray either. and no, to answer your question about do i have a craft that somebody has made for me before like that? no i do not. lol but i used to cross-stitch and i do have several of my cross stitch pictures haning throughout my house. so i guess that i treasure those pictures that i made in the past. thanks for sharing the beautiful photograph of your bowling ashtray with us all here at Mylot. have a beautiful day today!

Thanks so much, TnWoman, for your very kind response. I have a few other things my mother made and gave me long before she was old and sick. One is a nice cross stitch project that I had in the kitchen. This ashtray was so special since it was given to me by a special friend that I lost track of after she moved to the west coast. Have a great day, carolbee
