Why is it the little ones often hurt worse than the big ones?

I went to the doctor yesterday. I had the dreaded pregnancy Glucose test. All I can say is yuck. I made it through to the blood draw. And I have a small bruise. But it feels like the darn needle went through to my elbow. Why is it that small bruises often hurt more than large ones? Anyone else notice this?

Yes, I have noticed it. It's like a paper cut on your finger or one of those tiny bumps on your tongue. So much pain for such a tiny cut or bump. That's crazy huh.

I haven't had bumps on my tongue in a while. But your right, those hurt too.

That's a touchy one. Sometimes the needle hits a nerve or something. I'm not sure. Then again, I don't like how the techs drawing the blood puncture all the way through the vein and pull back to get blood. That just puts two holes in my vein when I only needed one.

Maybe because it bruised deeper then a big bruise would so therefore it hurts more. maybe..That is what I think anyhow. glad you made it through okay..

It really seems to matter more on what made the bruise and where it is rather then the size of it. I now have to have all my blood tests taken from the back of my hands. And it seems like the ones that have no bruise at all hurt the most. I think it is because it hits nerves.
