How often do you re arrange the furniture in your house?

LOL.. honestly, I do it only once a year sometimes not at all. I would really want to have a new look at least every 2 months or quarterly but we have a small space in our living room with lots of things to move. To think about how to move them in different areas makes me feel tired already. LOL. My cousin has a different arrangement almost every month. It's really a nice feeling to have make over but laborious. What about you? do you spend time doing it? How often? just nice to hear ideas from others.

Hi Bebs, I love to do it often also but now that I am very occupied, I don't care anymore about rearranging those stuff..I will only clean and wipe those and then spend almost all of my idle time working online..LOL! I have also a friend who don't enjoy working online and who is spending her time arranging their furnitures,,,,it helps her occupied too!

Hi Che, We are the same. right now, I have furniture to re arrange in the living room but just do it later because of my online thing. I need to do that because it is blocking the passage in our living room area. A friend of ours gave their slightly used divider, it looks very nice but big and heavy. I have a problem of how to let it fit in our small living room. Anyway, I'll just do it later, before my hubby arrive.

Im bad. I like to change things often. If one day I feel that I don't like it anymore, then, that moment I'll do something be different. It makes me feel better if I do it and I love it.

My S/O rearranges the furniture about every so often since he can't stand seeing it the same way all the time. LOL!!! So I guess he does it at least twice a year and I have to deal with the fallout becuase he only moves the big pieces of furniture and I have to find places for things that already had a place but now no longer have a place. I hate that once it's set leave it..

Hardly ever! Not unless it is time for me to move. That is when I will rearrange it.

Good for you you have no problem of how to make your house attractive. But I know of one teen ager who is the one doing the make over of their house. Her mom is busy working. She has all the artistic ability that her mother did not expect.Maybe you can do that too.

I dont rearrange my furniture every month. I do it every year coz it is kinda stressful for me to change furniture every month knowing that i am preoccupied already with a lot of things. I usually wanted to change the look of my house after a year since i believe that it is the right time to change look for a new year to come.

We do this about once every 3 months - rearrange furniture, or buy a new piece of furniture, or get rid of a bunch of stuff. It makes everything feel fresh.

Nah, we're both lazy pigs. Plus our apt. is so small that we can't really rearrange stuff hi hi hi hi hi...Plus we're not easily bored, so that lessens our drive to move things around HA HA HA HA...I think sometimes you just need to change the carpet or curtains or wall decorations to freshen up the look a bit.

Well, since we move every 3 months we arrange the day of and it pretty much stays that way. When we had a house it was wide open so everything went against the wall to maximize space.

Actually we don't know where we are going to stay, it could be a house or an apartment, dealers choice. My wife is a travel nurse so her assignments are 14 weeks, then its a new place to explore, we love it and our kids get to travel while they are young. We home school them too.

Oh Bebe, I would change it every time I have the opportunity. I am enjoying this task so much. I am always exited to give new look to my living room and bedroom because it gives a new feel. I would rearrange furniture in different angles, or switch their positions just to create a new atmosphere. I also love adding new elements like new scented candles and new pots of fresh plants. It is my delight to be was able to transform the rooms in my house into something that seems completely different but more pleasant to the eyes and my family has always been very appreciative.

Hi my friend, that is very good!!! yeah I like constant change but.. I am lazy to move that big and heavy furniture. Our living room has plenty of stuff and space is too small. Am having a hard time to move hahahaha.... I really want to have a big space in the living room. I just wish someday we can move to a bigger house.

this discussion is bringing back many memories to me. first, with husband #1 i was always changing furniture. it was our first apartment and i wanted to change things and make it more homey. he used to complain, thankfully you can't rearrange the commode ! i never know what it's going to look like each day. my mother said my aunt used to do that because she had no control in her life. ahem, anyway. i love to rearrange things. i think it's because i do not have the money to buy new things. so rearranging the old is somewhat uplifting. now, my mother has had a sofa in a certain place in her living room for 50 years. she never even moved furniture when my father was alive to help her. she is predictable and always organized. i'm more of a free spirit.

thank you for the best response. i remember as a very small child the sofa was on another wall. but, she obviously likes it on that wall. we have a fireplace on one wall and one wall is too short. but, i'd be moving it !

Hmmm. Arranging the furniture in our house really is not that simple. Cause we have a very limited space and it takes some planning so that we don't end up with a place where we can't move anymore. Hehe. So the furniture arrangement only happens whenever my mom get's back from her work abroad. Meaning every 1 - 2 years.

wow!!! that's long?? so only your mother will decide if you will rearrange or not? or maybe, you just don't like to do it? like me, I am lazy sometimes. But it really looks good, when you have a change very now and then.

Yea me too i only move the furniture like once or twice a year tops. I guess it usually depends on whether the wife says to move then we'll argue about it and then i probably end up moving it.

that's why I am not bothering my hubby of moving the furniture because I know men are complainers to the wives ideas.. sorry no offense!! I mean, ladies are more on little things, beautifying and all the styles which is not the thing for men.

I haven't re-arranged our furniture at all in the 3 years that I have lived in the place I do now. We did just accent two of the walls with red paint but no moving of the furniture. The reason is because we have a projector instead of a regular tv. The furniture will only fit in there a certain way because one wall is the projection wall. Our two couches are identical so changing places between them wouldn't matter either. It is fine though. I like the way it is set up.

We rearrange things in our living room probably 1-2x a yr. Usually depending on the season as we don't want the couch blocking the heat vent in winter but could care less in summer as we don't have c/a. So really the rearranging revolves around if the heat vent is in use or if we need to us the a/c. We have a small house so the living room is the only spot that gets moved around if at all. My grandma used to re-do her kitchen curtains by the season when I was a kid. Always thought that was a lil unusual. But to each their own.

oh!! yes, curtains also could make a difference in a look of our living room. But different arrangement can do a lot of new look.

I only really do that in the living room, about twice per year. During the holiday and colder season, I rotate the furniture to allow for more people to move about, leave room for the Christmas tree and decorations. In the summer, we are outside a lot, so I make it a little different again. I do have decorating ADD and like to redecorate every two years, if not sooner, lol.

Thats funny that you ask that because i think when i first started here that was one of my first questions because we do it atleast two times a year. My fiance likes a change every now and then. The only problem is we have big furniature and a small house so its hard to get it many different ways so sometimse we get frustrated during the rearranging. I guess rearranging kinda gives it a different feel "something out of the ordinary or something out of the normal"

I rearrange my room when I feel I need a change or a refresh in my life. I've probably done it 4 times in 2 years. Sometimes I just need to feel like I'm seeing the same thing over and over again. Seriously though, it's like getting a haircut or a new outfit!
