Returning restuarant food

I think I would of kept quiet but I admire you friend for doing it, more should I think. I bet that steak wasn't cheap so why should he have it, if it wasn't what he'd ordered.

Your friend was perfectly right although I wouldn't have done it. I have seen too many tv programmes about what can sometimes happen to food when it is sent back. Therefore, I will either eat it or just sit and stare at it, then pay my bill and walk out. Later I will cross the restaurant off my list of restaurants to visit and I might even write a letter of complaint to the proprietor.

I was at a restaurant a couple of weeks ago and ordered a vegetable platter. Well, the food came to me cold, and the rice was so glued together it looked like I had golf balls on my plate. I didn't eat it or take it back. When the waiter came with the bill, I showed him the rice, and asked him to take my meal off of the bill. He had no other choice, because I did not eat it, and the rice was obvious.

I think that if you order something and it is not what you want or how you want it, to just leave the restaurant like your friend did. Don't take the risk of your returned food being tampered with.

I think I would have done the same thing too since they just could not get my order right to begin with. I would be so tired of sitting there waiting for them to cook it the right way. That is a waste of time.

I would have done what I always do. Explain to the waiter or waitress why the order is not correct, ask them to take it off the bill and not order another thing, I don't care how hungry I am. This has been effective to get the manager over to the table apologizing and asking for me to order something claiming nothing will be done to the food (this is said without me saying why I won't order something else.) I still decline, I use to have a friend of mine who worked as a waitress and she told me no matter what never send food back to the kitchen to be redone have it taken off the bill instead, doesn't matter if the cook screwed up the order if the customer is being picky the food will still be messed with.

whne i got to a restaurant and pay for a meal, I expect to get what I ordered. If they can't get my order right, they either need to give me my money back, or fix my order, no matter how many times it takes. If they can't even get a medium rare steak right, they cn't be that good a restaurant.
