Gov. Sarah Palin at first says no reporters, then changes position.Palin meeting with world leaders on sidelines of U.N. world summit. She debates Sen. Joe Biden next week in St. Louis, Missouri. Palin has had to defend herself against charges she lacks foreign policy experience. Do you think she is having these meetings to gain ground for the debate with Biden? Or just to show that she is comfy in the international scene?

I think she will do a good job. Actually I am weird because I am thinking that Obama would have done good with her as a Vice President runner.
I don't like McCain or Biden much.

Now THAT would sure be an odd couple! The two have nothing in common that I can think of other than that they both have kids and are both in their forties. I'd guess their supporters have even less in common.
I didn't say this to offend you. Actually, maybe that kind of bipartisan ticket is what this country needs. I just really can't STAND Palin!

She is not comfortable with the international scene. The meetings are supposed to be trying to make up for that. She has said, rather stupidly, that she has experience in foreign relations because Russia is next door to Alaska. Obviously, her party felt a need to position her in such a way as to make that not seem as entirely foolish as it was of her to say.

I think it's all a show and I think that is reinforced by the fact that she wouldn't allow all of her conversations with these world leaders to be filmed or at least grant interviews following these meetings. She has been the V.P candidate for nearly three weeks and still hasn't had her first press conference. These meetings won't help her in gaining ground for her debate with Biden since he's met with all of them many times.
