DREADFUL! yet kinda like xmas

Oh my goodness. I am the world's worst pack rat! I have stuff I haven't touched in years that I just throw away or give to charity. I also have many boxes that have never been unpacked and I obviously am not missing any of these things or I would have unpacked them by now. I need to downsize too as I am planning on selling my house and moving again. I just don't know how to go about organizing everything. Hi Bunny, I'm afraid I belong to the pack rat club!!I try so hard not to collect things and the next thing I know, I've got a new collection started. I was born abd raised here in Orlando, but moved to Ca. with my first husband. I lived there 30 years and when I moved back to Fl. I moved a 3 bedroom house full. I didn't have enoug time to get rid of everything, so I brought back way too much stuff. I moved into a 2 bedroom condo and had to get rid of a lot more stuff just to get around in the condo. I now have a 3 bedroom house again and really need to start having garage sales again. This is a frustrating habit. Good luck with your move. I may be doing it again some day too. leenie

I am a bit of a pack rat. I have a lot of comic books and books in general in my house that I could get rid of.

Bunnnybon, you ertaily have my sympathies. There are a few things I never unpacked when I moved into this house in 1993, because I couldn't figure out where to put them. Last year,I had the kitchen remodeled and the dining room still has boxes piled up, with things I don't know where to place. I'm beginning to feel like a total slob, and I really do plan to use the next time off from work (Thanksgiving(?)) to clear it all up. If I had to pack up and move, I think I'd get rid of a lot of the stuff so I wouldn't have to move it. Maybe, as much as I hate Miami, noving isn't a great idea. I'll be here at least 5 more years, until retirement, and I'll probably get rid of most of the stuff the house is stuffed with when my husband and I figure out where we want to go. Our house is huge, and we'll want a much smaller place, so a lot of it will just have to go anyway Can you do a huge yard sale? I'd rather dump all but the photo albums and get new stuff than move it. I wish you much, much luck. Joanne

i'm really not a pack rat, i left that up to my mother & my olest son is. gosh, i hate moving. worst work i ever got into. i'm sorry u are having to do all that moving. i haven't moved in about 15 years & don't plan to anytime soon i hope. good luck!

Hi bunnybon7, I'm lucky because I din't have to keep moving and I wouldn't, I love where I live and I am in my own house bought and nearly paid for and wouln't dream of going anywhere else. I am sitting here and every thing is quiet and peaceful and when I look out my conversavtary windows the firs thing I see is this big old oak tree and my arch with roses all over it and the sun is streaming down on the trees and plants, I couldn't ask for more, its like heaven. I am, when I moved six years ago, I was surprised at all the stuff I had. I had new pots and pans sets, sheet sets, towels, silverware you name it. I actually went through a drawer if memories today, expecting to get rid of a lot of stuff. Some of it I couldn't let go. that happens everytime I say I am going to get rid of things. I did let some stuff this summer, when I had a garage sale.

Hey bunny! I had my apartment painted in the end of May and my boyfriend made me clean out all my stuff because he needed a closed for his stuff meaning I was losing a whole closet that I was used to having my stuff in. Since I have been living here for 27 years and I too haven't done cleaning stuff out in all that time I went through just about everything and through out alot of my past. I don't even know what I through out because I was so tired at one point and now I know I will be missing things and be sorry for listening to him. So I kinda know what you mean. It was surprising to see some of the stuff that I had forgotten about. Now I have to see what I have left and what I can still get rid of because I still have too much stuff and no place to put it. I am definitely a pack rat too!

I am a die hard pack rat, it just doen't make any sense to keep all this stuff that I have, I try to clean and throw some of it away but it just keep coming back. If my children or realatives have to clean out my house they are going to have a very grand chore to do.
