The FBI is now investigating Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, and Lehman Brothers and their executives. They are looking at possible mortgage fraud. The FBI says it currently has 26 other companies under investigation for possible mortgage fraud. 1,400 independent brokers and appraisers and individual real estate lenders also. Alot of people are mad over what has happened and the bail outs. They want someone held accountable for it.
I can see this investigation growing. Especially within the subprime markets. As someone who is not happy about what has happened and the bail out that is now needed I am happy to see the FBI stepping in. Do you think the investigation will come to anything? Do you think people will be held accountable and go to prison? Or is the whole investigation just lip service to make us feel better and make them look like they are doing something? Part of me wonders if this problem is jsut too big and far reaching to really do much about holding any individual responsible. What do you think?

I think someone should investigate the one that walked with 90million in 6 years, now that is a bit big for an income when the rest are failing. This is theif, and big time. Wonder why the dems voted for it, is it the ones that are not thieves in the senate, or house. She screams Bush because she has to blame the ones that are at fault and that wouldn't look good on the dems, so let's just lay it on Bush. I wonder why they don't take the money the theives took and pay back, why got to drop it on the public, I didn't do anything to cause this so why am I being punished. I hope the FBI holds them all accountable and does something to stop what is happening in Washington.

I honestly think that there has been so much upset and publicity about this bail out that they will have to find some one to pin it on. Now whether or not they pin it on the right someone, that remains to be seen. I think they will do a thorough investigation into it though.

with how wide spread this problem is I think this investigation will take years.
