Have you ever heard of these children?
Well, I had not until recently. I have been watching a programme called Ross Kemp on Gangs, which has been shown here in UK on sky 1. He has been investigating certain gangs and trying to find out more about them. Basically on his last investigation to Kenya, he came across these children by accident and I have to tell you what I saw broke my heart.
I am going to include the websites for you to go and take a look at, but I will warn you that what you will see and read is heartbreaking. For these children are treated worse than dogs, they are children who have run away from home, or who have witnessed their families being killed and have run away to escape and have all ended up not only on the streets but living on a stinking rubbish dump. How do they survive? How do they get through the day? By sniffing glue, yes folks these little kids sniff glue all day long. Why? To forget, to get through the day and to stave off hunger. They are addicted to the stuff, they inhale it like they would drink a drink. What upset me even more was that when asked what they would like to do the most, each of those children said they wanted to go back to school. They still have glimmers of dreams, even though long term they will not make it past childhood if they are not helped.
Their country seems not to care about them and they are left to fend for themselves, the girls are raped and end up pregnant and when their children are born they are immediately on glue. I saw a little girl in this documentary, no older than my own two year old daughter being handed a glue bottle by her mother and inhaling it like her life depended on it.
I know that there are needy and poor people in this world, but by far this is the worst I have ever seen, this is not a discussion just something I wanted you to see, maybe if more people are made aware of this then maybe more help can be given to them somehow. But please feel free to comment on anything you feel like.

The above two links will take you to some information and pictures to see and read about this terrible terrible thing.
I wanted to put a photo on here too, but I do not want to get into trouble for copying it so I changed my mind.
Thank you for taking the time to read this xx

That is sad that children are encouraged to inhaler glue especially when as young as two. i feel sorry for those children that have been forced to live on the streets due to their parents being killed or fleeing for safety when really they aren't much safer on the streets!!! Its shocking that all the kids want to do is go to school!
I have seen a couple of episodes of Ross Kemp and Gangs and am shocked by what they do. I dont watch it often but when they admit what they carry around, what they have done to other gang members and stuff. Its a waste of a life time. Its a shame they cant learn to get along and concentrate on the more important things in life like their family!!

I really enjoy watching his programmes, and it is stunning to learn of all this gang activity and how vicious it all is and how seriously it is taken. I think though that them coming across these children was by accident.

It is really so sad, I wish we could help all the children of the world, they are this world's future, yet we treat them like garbage.

I know, it is easy to ignore it when it is not shown anywhere. But as soon as I see something like this it reminds me that children all over the world are suffering terribly.

I am very sorry to hear this. I hate it when kids are mistreated. Thank you for speaking the word and letting people know about this.
