Do you think email is killing the United States Postal Service?

Or is it the increasing amount for stamps? I have noticed that service is more than ocassionally lacking. Why? Do you have a complaint about your postal services?

Yes. I think it has definitely put a damper on the earnings the post office used to get since we can now send emails. I think it hurt them also when we are now able to pay bills online instead of mailing also.

Since so many people can pay online, I don't understand why they don't freeze the rate of a stamp. At least for a while.

I would rather email if I can. It is easier, faster, and alot cheaper. Stamps are going up now at 42ยข each and people are now more high tech now then ever so not alot of mail like written letters except for businesses and those whom don't have a pc or phone to do so. Written mail is not so popular since the raising cost.

I email a lot more than I mail a letter or a card, but I still do mail things. I mailed my sister in law a book and some cookies the other day and I mailed my niece a card with a little license plate with her name on it. I could have waited until I went up to visit next, but I think people still like getting things in the mail.

Well, isn't killing it but is slowing is revenue down. I mean bill paying on line means no more postage stamps being bought. Email means no more snail mail for letters and such which means no more stamps being bought.
However, Ebay, Amazon.com and other online stores, still have to use the USPS. Granted some use UPS but most use the post office, so it is just slowing down, but cna't go belly up - how else can legal things be delivered? Just cause you get an email doesnt mean tha person got it....but USPS with a signature... that person got it.
I don't think anyone misses standing in line for an hour or so waiting for help at the post office - they have 50 people "in line" and only one service window open - being "worked" by the worlds slowest person - - - standard protical....
