Bop to the Beat of Ringtones and Car Alarms

It's not always but I tend to do a little dance when I hear a loud phone ringtone or car alarm. I don't know why I do it even in front of strangers or in a public place. I start to move my shoulders and then my head and stay still when the sound stops and then go about my business. I think it's my way of not letting these sounds annoy me. Most of the time, you even get to make those around you smile. Do you do this already? If not, try it!

I was trying to sleep off a hangover yesterday morning when the neighbors car alarm went off... there was nothing musical about it "BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP" went the horn of his car, right outside my open bedroom window. I did not dance to it, hehehe, but I also did not let it annoy me and just sort of 'stepped back' behind my mind and just enjoyed the signs of life happening all around me... the birds chirping, the breeze blowing, the lawnmower in the distance, the horn honking in my ear...

I always get a headache afterwards. But I haven't been drinking for a couple years now. I just woke up from a nap. I won't be taking a lot of those soon. I'm starting my training tomorrow.

Is it like a touchdown dance? Or do you really get into something serious like Modern Jazz? I haven't actually tried this to date SaintAnne but I think I just might. The funny thing is though that people that know me probably won't even bat an eyelid. They all know I am half-crazed already!

What about the other half? Half-insane? No, it doesn't get beyond moving the upper body. My touchdown dance is only reserved for Boyfriend when I beat him at a game and he needs to recognize my awesomeness! I haven't busted out my jazz hands for a while now but I do my version of Modern Jazz once in a while to make other people laugh... or cry.

Ooooh, forget the Jazz Hands SaintAnne, what about the Jazz FINGERS! And for the record, one half of me is crazed, the second half of me is lopsided; and the third half of me is pure genius!

Ahaha... I may not be a math genius but you said way too many halves there. But what you said got me thinking, if you're already half-crazed and you don't bop like I do, what does that make me then?

Out here you get an overdose of it, so you can get confused with all the tones and all the horns. Just cannot help but get annoyed. And with all those confusing sounds which way does one get to move one head and shoulders other than one of annoyance and disgust at times.

I think i did get alittle confused with all those sounds and did not mean to sound too pessimistic about the possible experience. Will try out what you have suggested sometime and let you know how it feels.

Oh, I didn't take another country into consideration. I guess it's an all-out bopping for you... Well, alokn, I hope you find another kind of sound that you can bop to without being annoyed and disgusted. Take care and don't get too confused out there.

Don't worry, alokn. I can't say that I won't do the same if faced with the same thing.

Yeah, it is like that crummy music in the stores when we shop. Humming along to block out the racket so we can think about what we are spending. Yeppers. Well, now my camera is doing it. I found there were optional sounds in the settings and now if I make a mistake it is like birds twirping. Tweetle-tweeet-tweet-de-bleep-Toot-Tweep.

Sometimes I have the switch set to View instead of Shoot and I try to snap a photo. Or start setting up a shot when the memory card is not in the camera? I can make all sorts of mistakes, that is what I love about digital. But really I'm going to change it back to the standard sound -- the birds are too much!

Music is one of the ways how stores/restaurants get you to spend, spend, spend. What do you mean when you make a mistake while using your camera? When I used to turn on my camera, I do hear the birds chirping sound but I set it to silent now. Tweetle-tweeet-tweet-de-bleep-Toot-Tweep

I have to check my camera for this option. I also keep on trying to take a picture while my camera is still set on View. I use the timer so I can take 6 pictures at once and I always forget to switch it back to just one. Thanks drannhh.

Hey anne! I would love to see that! I'll bet that is the cutest thing! You doing a little bob to the beat of a car alarm? I must admit I have never done that or even thought of doing that. Maybe one of those really cool ring tones, but a car alarm? Interesting! I just don't think that at my age anyone would think that it was cute. Maybe they might think that they should call for the men with the white coats and the straight jackets. I don't think I could get away with that sort of thing anymore. Maybe if I was still a sweet young thang like you!

There's always a little kid in all of us, Opal! If someone sends the lab men after you, then they've lost touch with the magic and fun from within! Just bob that head side to side, little girlie!

That is so funny. I can't wait to try this. If nothing else Im sure my baby boy will get a kick out of mommy taking time to dance. You should write to the Ellen show and tell her about your dancing. I bet she would bring the car alarm dancer on to the show. There aren't too many people talented enough to dance to a car alarm. You Go Girl! Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

You and your baby boy will have a fun time doing this. Just don't blame me when he keeps bopping to such sounds all the way to adulthood. Not my fault! Ellen... hmmm... I don't know if I can handle such acclaim. But I do enjoy that American Express commercial where her project in life is to make people dance to their own tune or something like that. Thank you!
