I think I may have swallowed a couple of them over the years. I think they got in my soft drink can or cup. I felt so sick to my stomach and started gagging LOL.

Over the years you should have become a professional in doing this thing without any gagging.

Hahaha... Once I did swallow a mosquito. The poor guy, kept hovering around me with that annoying buzzzzzzz and I was trying to shoo him off. But he would not for his fate was obviously tied with me. And I gulped it unknowingly. Poor chap, couldn't fight back inspite of my earnest assistance. My homage to him.

I have seen many times a mosquito vaporizer machine hoping and swapping in all the mosquitoes with it's tongue an gulping them down.I don't know why I remember that commercial now.

I seem to remember inhaling a house fly once, but there was no helpless feeling. What was I going to do, and what was there to worry about? I am not the type of pperson who will cry over what can not be changed. It didn't kill me, so I didn't worry about it.

Yes I understand. It is the fly fellow who has to do the worrying. You have deprived him of this chance too.May his soul rest on peace without any worries.

LOL I so wish I hadn't been swallowing a bit of my sandwich whilst reading your post haha! It made me feel rather ill, not your fault of course! I don't recall ever having swallowed a bug but statistics show that we all have swallowed a few in our lifetimes. If I knowingly swallowed a bug the first thing I would do is make myself throw it up again - sorry I know that sounds really gross but the thought of a bug down my throat and then inside my body is unacceptable to me as I really freaked out by bugs in general never mind eating one with my breakfast, lunch or dinner :)

Well, a few years ago... when i was still teaching... a fly accidentally flew inside my mouth... and i had to immediately spit it out before i swallow... good thing i was able to... then i ran to the bath room and rinsed my mouth... that was one yucky experience that i never want to happen again...

One insect ? Actually it was a whole lot of these small little fellows on a mango tree. It was followed by a bout of spitting out, coughing out and that feeling of yuck . Off the tree in a jiffy and then the rinsing, gargling. The thought of that still gets that twisted look on my face.

How were you able to send a whole lot of these small little fellows on a mango tree inside your mouth Alok?

On a mango tree, with all those delicious looking raw mangoes. It's difficult to keep the mouth closed. I suppose there were a lot of them too.

Mmm bon apetite NOT! Yes I have swallowed a few flies in my time, not those big horrible bluebottles or big flies, those small flies that buzz around you, I tried to spit it out but it was too late and down the hatch it went, yum, yum ewww! The thought is horrible itself without the action. Best to keep your mouth closed and when there's mosquitoes flying about at night you have to sleep with your mouth closed or else!

Or else you will imbibe a lot of extra protein unnecessarily.

I don't think that I have swallowed down any insect accidentally. It seems that each time I can happen to find it. I feel that I am lucky. I will empty the whole food if I find a bug, as it spoils my taste. Take care, balasri.

Oh, yea. It's disgusting! I'm glad it hasn't happened to me in a while. Usually it's because of serious laughing when camping.

Heck yeah...what a disgusting experience to endure. It's never really made me feel helpless however. I suppose if you swallowed something large enough and it was still alive somehow that might be unsettling, but the acids in your stomach would put a quick end to pretty much anything that might get down in there. Just the same, it's a pretty nasty thing to endure and not something that I think anyone would really enjoy.
