i definitely am an avid fan of CSI..it was really a saddening fact that warrick brown turned out to be a waste in real life..a very different man from what he portrays in the show.

that episode where he was killed was so devastating..i've watched the CSI episode from the very beginning up to the last..never thought he would be killed in the show. never anticipated it anyway.

the next sad thing to happen to CSI would be Gill Grisome (Petersen) leaving the show..double ouch..he's my favorite character!

I know it is a shame. I did not know he was leaving. I do know that Grissom isleaving as well. That was in my TV guide mag. TV Guide did an interview with both him and Kathryn. Grissom is still going to help produce the show and will make some appearances but he is also concentrating on his theater work. I just hate that Warrick is gone. I did not know about his drug charges. It is a shame what actors/actresses/singers throw away after they finally make it! Thanks for posting this.

I stopped watching CSI a while ago but i kept hearing of the actor getting into trouble and so on so i kind of saw this coming...it's sad mostly because its always sad when someone ends up like that for drugs...and also because i used to love his character...i loved his friendship with the other guy whose name right now i dont remember:P

A the end of last season they had him shot. I kinda figued it was coming you could tell he was doing drugs and looking rough. He was fun to watch and yes down to earth and is a terrible waste. He had money and fame but sometimes people can have everything and still feel they have nothing. Sad actually. They never know if they are loved for themselves or for whom they portray or their money. Acting is like any other job just higher profile.

I live in the UK so when I saw your title I was like . Nooooooooooooo. Warrick Brown was a great character. Stoic, honourable(even when he was in trouble) great screen presence.
as for the actor himself, I hope he develops the strength of will required to quit.(some people can do it with minimal prompting, others can take 20 years)
twoey, you don't say what drugs he's on so it would be difficult to see which way he's gonna go!
d'ya know who's gonna replace Warrick?

It was very sad. I'm also sad that William Petersen is leaving the cast. Doesn't seem like the show will be the same -- but I'm sure I'll watch it anyway.

Twoey, I have known so many people myself who had drug problems, and have never been able to answer the "why." Every single one was different. Some begin because they really did have physical pain issues and became addicted, but some because they wanted to just "party" and became hooked. Others had psychological issues they couldn't get awy from. So many reasons. It's such a waste.
