up, parade them around and compete for prizes. Would your dog or cat put up with being dressed up? It was fun last year. Glad I wasn't a judge. They all looked adorable to me. After the parading around, they had treats for the dogs and cats and I think some kool-aid for the people. I loved the cat that was a cheese and the owner was a mouse. The huge cat in a baby stroller dressed as a baby was a hoot, too. The tiny dog whose Pet Mom made him an alligator costume was terrific. Like I said, they were all terrific, but those three stand out in my mind. Some pet parents weren't very good sports and complained that they didn't win and should have. But most just had a good time. I think the most talented was the little Chiwawa, Chijuajua ( I have no idea how to spell that little Mexican dog name). He had a little Mexican Hat and they had him do a Little Dance, after they took off the hat, near the hat. I don't remember much else from Last Year's Party. Have you ever gone to a Pet Halloween Party? Would you bring your pet to one if you could? I can't. My cat is an only child. He thinks smaller than him, he's supposed to eat it and larger than him, he's supposed to beat it (up). So he will stay home. If I could dress him up, I'd probably make him into SuperCat, able to leap up tall trees in a couple bounds (as apposed to a single bound, after all, he's a cat, not superman). But I can't see him letting me dress him up beyond a temporary collar. Take care and have fun with this one.

I have taken my cat to PetSmart to have his picture taken with Santa, but I do not think Jake would put up with a costumn I think dogs are more tolerate with dressing up than cats. But if Jake did allow me to dress him up I think he would like to be Prince Valiant, since he thinks he rules the house. My female cat Scoots would be Elizabeth Taylor, since she has such a pretty face, and so did Elizabeth Taylor when she was younger.

I agree, dogs are more tolerant than cats. Prince Valiant and Elizabeth Taylor. Neat household you have there! Thanks and take care.

No, I don't see my cats letting us dress them up. I don't see the dogs associating with strange dogs either. I don't like crowds, so I'll just pass.

Rygel could be a king's Fool, he's funny and smart and likes to entertain us. Ping could be an explorer, little Chris Columbus hat and a map. Boo could be some kind of sports figure, maybe a football player - he's big and tough looking but a total sweetheart. I just don't know how to dress up Oliver to look like his name sake, but he really thinks he needs to be honored as the beloved heir now -he's so big and sleek and handsome!

Since our PetSmart is huge and it's on a weeknight, the 10 or 12 pet parents and pets that participate don't really seem to be a crowd. Also about 10 to 12 more of us watch. Some places it probably is a crowd though. Yes, but if you could or were included to dress them? What costumes would suit their personalities.

No, I would never even try that with any of the cats I have had in recent years. I had a kitty once that would probably have co operated. he liked riding in the doll stroller and he would chase me when I had my daughter in the bike carrier, and my son was riding with us. I started putting a towel in the front basket and letting him ride too. He was a perfect cat when I had a daycare.

That sounds like such a sweet kitten! Yes, most cats have no desire to have you "mess with them," they're tough. So what would you have dressed your kitten up as?

Since I had named him Papa Smurf, you gotta know, he would have had red shorts and a funny hat. I always though 'smurf' sounded like something a cat would say, in conversation. One little girl looked at him though and said, " Smurfs are blue, but he is pink. Why did you call him that?" It was true, at that time he was a little kitty and he was almost all white, and his pink skin showed through.

Oh, we just got a new Petsmart that is walking distance from our house! That would be so cool to go and see all the animals dressed up. I haven't been in there yet because we have no pets. But maybe I need to find out when this Halloween party will be held and check it out. Your cat sounds pretty cute and alot like the cat, "George" I had years ago. He was a yellow tabby and looked just like "Morris" the cat. He even won the Morris Look Alike contest in the local cat shows more than once. In his latter years, he got really cranky and one year, they named him the "Garfield" look alike, no kidding. He sure was alot of fun.

He sounds like he was a lot of fun. The Halloween Party for pets (and pet parents) is fun. I hope you get a chance to go. Take care
