I lost my umbrella again! Absent-minded or careless!  

no, u are definiely not the only one who is absentminded. i don't ;ose umbrellas because i very seldom use them. what drives me nuts is putting something up here in the house & then can't remember where i put it & have to turn the house upside down to find it. so just the crowd, you aren't alone.

Well umbrellas aren't really something you use every day and when you come rushing in from the rain, you're more concerned about getting dry and warm than where you dump your wet umbrella! So don't feel like you're absent minded. Perhaps you can put up a special hook next to your front door so you can hang your umbrella to dry each time you come in. That way you will always know where it is.

Hey salonga! I am absent minded too! But, it's not
umbrellas that I lose! I have those little ones that fold
up so I can keep them in my purse that way I don't lose
them. You should get those kind. Maybe then you wouldn't
lose them so easily. The are much handier too. Well,
the thing that I am always losing is glasses. I can't
see without the so I am always putting them down and
I forget where I put them and I have all different pairs
that I pay $1 for. They aren't my real prescription
but I can use them to watch tv or work on the computer.
So if I take them off and put them somewhere I need to
find a pair to find the pair I took off. So I am always
looking for glasses! And I'm always losing other stuff
to, so you are not alone!

We have the same experience,I always bring umbrella on my bag,I've lost 5 five umbrellas for 10 months,my wife always telling me that i am absent-minded,I think we are Absent-minded or we forgot things when we are in hurry.

Lost? Oh you are not the only one! I always loose my umbrella, I am so careless with using one. My mother would get mad at me sometimes but the thing is she also loses her umbrella most of the time.

I too can say from first-hand experience that I've had my share of losing one's accessories...whether it be hankies, keys, sunglasses or umbrellas and yes even wallets. I suppose there are people who don't understand the absent-minded mind, shaking their heads wondering why this seems like a striking idea, but then again they're probably not used to multi-tasking with the general house keeping or keeping the 7/9 time while performing everyday tasks. I wish I had some words of advice or comfort, I would just say go easy on yourself. As long as the things lost are just our own things, then these are just things that can be replaced. If it is of a larger irresponsibility or disrespect, then I guess we could do another discussion...hehehe ;) As a mom, I'd say if you exercise some of the time, if you listen to music some of the time, if you read some journals some of the time, if you keep your family happy and safe, then that is enough. We need to remember that we are enough, and that we are fine just the way we are.

You are not alone. I have friends who have lost a lot of things not only umbrellas or hankies but wallets. It's not a matter of being careless or absent-minded. It's a mixture of both. Just kidding.

Well yes I guess that feels disappointing to know that you lost something especially when it happens all the time. In my case I seem to always lost my pen. Since I usually used that all the time its either my officemates would unintentionally take it when they borrow it from my table and would not return it back. With my umbrella I have one since last year and its rather old and dilapidated already but I just massage it and it would go back to its original form.

But it is not suitable anymore for strong rains because it always has a tendency to fold up.

Hello, Salonga! I think losing an umbrella is just normal. I lost umbrellas also, and the thing is, most of the time, I also find some from somewhere. Say, we find umbrellas in public utility vehicles, in malls, in cinemas, in the market. That only means that you and me are not the only ones who lost and find umbrellas, right? We bring it along because it is raining, but when we are going back home and it isn't raining anymore, we tend to forget the umbrella. Hahaha.
