Which do you think tastes better?

Okay. First of all, I always make cake from scratch, but I will buy a birthday cake at a store. I think chocolate wins hands down for the best homemade taste. I absolutely do not like store bought chocolate. Unless, of course, it's from the Cheesecake Factory or some other super expensive bakery. Homemade chocolate can be extremely good, especially made with the good cocoa or chocolate. Vanilla can be tolerated from the store a lot easier. A little harder to mess up the taste. Homemade boiled icings, butter cream icings, whipped cream icings - yum. some of the stores around here do a decent butter cream, if only the cake was as good.

I generally prefer chocolate. I find store bought cakes less personal, so I prefer to see them made with mother's love. :)

I love cake just as much as the next person and for me homemade is the best. My favorite it white cake or french vanilla. Chocolate is okay and I like it and eat it but white is my first choice above others. I also love spice cake and carrot cake as well better then chocolate.

I like vanilla the most.But my sister like chocolate.We don't make cakes at home so I am not in a position to distinguish between store bought and home made.As for the icing I like the butter-icing with cream and cherry on the centre.

I really do not like cake very much. If given the choice between chocolate and vanilla I would pick the vanilla though. Homemade frosting is the best. Especially if it is cream cheese frosting.

I would think that, the chocolate one would taste better homemade. And the vanilla would taste as if it was store bought. I think the icing would have tasted better homemade.
