When a guy really likes you, he'll disregard all your bad characteristics  

I think that we all have some habits that aren't the greatest thing for our partner to deal with but I am sure that your husband may have some habits that you don't appreciate either. You just have to accept each other's flaws. That is what love is all about.
I have been married for four years now and with my husband for about eight years altogether. Having a relationship can take a lot of patience.

I don't think he disregards it, maybe his love just tends to make you bad habits don't look so bad. He can actually let these characteristics go. But remember that in a relationship, it will not always be love and roses. Sooner or later a person would be less loving, so try to change as soon as possible.

My mom used to tell me that married life has its ups and downs too. And sooner or later puppy love ends and reality begins. Then you both could no longer look beyond the negative characteristics and then fights and complaints begin. But if your bond is strong, these highs and lows could never change the relationship, it will make your relationship stronger.

So now, as it's obvious that he's not complaining, try to be conscious of yourself and know that any simple thoughtfulness and respect for the other could build a stronger lover.

One successful person I've come to know even said that until now (after so many years being married) she still manages to keep her same attitude of not running around the house naked or without some sort of embarrassment about it in front of her husband. That's why she has a successful marriage, because she never took her husband for granted.

Oh yes indeed sanjana..this is so true..which to me is the way it should be..the vows are taken and for better or worse and that is how it should be.

You are right that we all h ave bad habits and things that most people will not look past, but if someone truly loves you he would love those flaws. I keep telling my boyfriend that I love him because of his flaws, they make him who he is and I see perfection within them. HE just laughs at me LOL.

Love sees everything...good or bad. When someone loves a person...he or she does not mind any flaws that you have. instead, he will overlook at your flaws and even embrace it. he will not even try to change you as he loves you for the person you are. that's true love

That's very sweet! I personally think they'll have a different view of it. My friend likes to brush her hair back with her hair as a habit-- regularly. She only likes doing it; she doesn't like the outcome. She thinks it makes her hair look too poufy. So she'll request for a compact mirror from me, and try to fix her poufiness. I tell her why do it when you don't like how you look after? But she keeps trying to explain that old habits die hard. I think it's annoying. But her current boyfriend thinks it's cute. Her last boyfriend thought so too, until their break up, he said she was obsessed. See what I mean?

That is nice. It seems love can excuse everything.
But I do not understand how shaking the leg is a bad characteristic. This is new to me.
I think he ignores all these habits because maybe these are not bad habits. Like biting fingernails- what is his problem if you bite nails or you wear jeans?

There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "It is easier to reshape a mountain or a river than a person's character."

It is not easy to change. Thus, having high expectation on changing the spouse character will cause disappointment and unpleasantness.

It would be less painful to change ourselves and lower our expectations.
