My goodness I cant believe how much those converter boxes cost if you dont know what I'm referring to let me explain, ok in 2009 if your using a TV antenna to watch TV you'll have to get one of those TV converter boxes in order to watch television and lately Iv been considering getting one or more because I'm really fed up with cable prices and all those ridiculous fee's and outrages deposits, so I checked around to see how much the converter box cost, and to my surprise I found out they cost between 50 to 60 dollars depending on were you get them I'm like WHAT! just for local TV that seems wrong just for 5 or 6 channel's whats the world coming to there making it so diffecult to even get the basics. anyway dose anyone else think thats a ridiculous price for a converter box or is it just me.

You can go online and apply for a government coupon for fourty dollars, there is another website, that you can use the coupon and the converter will be free. Below are the websites you will need to use. for your coupons go to: www.dtv2009.gov/applycoupon.aspx after you get your coupon to redeem it go to: www.inetaccessinc.com You won't have to pay for anything. Good luck

Did you know that you can get a coupon from the government that takes a LOT of the cost off the box. My BF got the coupon and his final cost for the box was $10 plus sales tax. I would do a search and find the site and request the coupon if you're going to dump cable. Since I live out in the country I have to have satellite and if I don't have satellite then I end up with no television...so I don't need one of the boxes. I don't know if you have a Wal Mart near you, but they had all the information about obtaining the coupon posted near the converter box.

Look up sites that deal with DTV and you should find the coupon site. I think my daughter is getting one of these and she is going to get a coupon too. She doesn't want to pay that much for one either. I am shocked to see how hard it is going to be if you have an antenna but I guess it is the way things are getting to be like.

They are ridiculously expensive. Thank goodness for the government coupons. I have some favorite TV shows that I like to watch, so I need the converter boxes! I am sure that it will be worth it, although it seems like a lot of money, now!
