What do you do when you cannot pay people who have a high regard for you ?

Right now I'm in a real cash slump. In the past four weeks about three sources of income have systematically failed me and I cannot pay people who have great respect for me and upon whom I depend for my actual living. How would you deal with this ? How would it affect you ?

I do not borrow money from people, although I have had people borrow from me. If I need the money for something that I can do without for a while, I will wait until I have the money. I would only borrow money if it were a real emergency, such as helping me pay my rent or for food.
I would let the people know that I do not have the money yet to pay them back, and will pay them as soon as I got some. There's not much more you can say to them or do, if you do not have the money what can you do?

i do not like borowing money in general. i'm not comfrotable with it unless i really have no choice. so if ever i do get to borrow, i make sure to pay it the soonest possible time. the only times i borrow is when i'm sure that i can pay right away. if you're caught in a situation when you woudl want to pay but for whatever reason, just cant, the best thing to do is tell the person.
