I can speak, read and write in French, very badly but I can get by. I can also speak a bit of Arabic, read a little and write a bit less. I would love to be able to speak Chinese, I think it would be a very interesting language to learn. I love to write and calligraphy is one of my hobbies so I would love to able to write like the Chinese as I think it is very beautiful and delicate. What language would love to be able to speak, read and write?

Hi there amanda333 I dread to think what words you have picked up since you have been there!! It is funny how people are always willing to get you to say rude words in their language aren't they? When I was on a French exchange when I was a school they taught me this phrase (excuse my writing I am not good at writing in French) 'Ne m'casse pas les pied'. For those who don't speak French this means, don't break my feet, it would be like saying 'you are getting on my nerves'!! I learnt this one very quickly and it was handy!! Please correct me if I have written it wrong!! Thanks for your response

For my welfare, I have to learn French fast and if possible, though quite impossible, perfect it soon! I know some Spanish words but I don't really communicate with it. Here in the Philippines, being a colony of Spain, we still use some words taken from Spanish. Some just wrongly used. Our forefathers probably just heard them and mistook its meaning then handed it down to the generations that came. Well I can write, speak, and read English almost without any problem.

Hi ya Theresaaiza Well yes your English is good but the best way to learn a language quickly is to live in the country of origin. Good luck with learning French Thanks for responding

I really wished I had the talent to learn another language fluently, but I just don't have the intelligence or the acumen to be able to do it, I wanted to learn French and I only got a mediocre CSE grade and it was so basic, that most of it has been forgotten! I can only speak my mother tongue English and I feel that is a great handicap, I love travel, and although most countries have English as their first or second language I still feel it would be great and beneficial that I could learn a language and write it as well as speak it. If I had a patient teacher 1:2:1 then maybe I could but I certainly couldn't pick it up from books or teach yourself courses etc. But French would be my number one language I would choose to learn and speak fluently.

Hi wolfie34 I went on a few French exchanges whilst I was at school and I learnt so much just by living with French people because they wouldn't speak in any other language and in fact the mother didn't speak English. Also once when I was in Paris I was trying my best to order food in a cafe and the waiter could obviously tell I was English so he spoke to me in English which really annoyed me because I was trying my hardest and he made me feel foolish. Thank you for your response

English Humbug. I am ashamed at my lack of grammar and comprehension sometimes. After that, probably Spanish.

I speak mandarin and english. I can't say i'm very good at these 2 languages, but at least people can understand me and i'm able to write in these languages. I'd like to learn german, my hubby is a german, it would be a big challenge for me. Besides, i'd love to learn japanese too. It's a very gentle and soft language. :-)

English is my first language but I hope to get it polished a bit more. I also wish I can be fluent in Spanish, French, Arabic, and Korean. I wouldn't mind learning all the languages in the world actually, if that is ever possible but those I listed are my goals to accomplish one day.

I'd love to be able to speak, read and write Chinese and English well. I have been learning these languages since I was young, but I'm still quite poor in them, especially English. Besides these, I wish to learn Japanese too.

Hi apples99 French is a relatively easy language to learn as many of the words are simular even the same as they are in English just pronounced differently. Thanks for your response
