He fixed it!  

Sometimes it takes a while but with a lot of trial and error and some research you can fix a lot of things yourself. Glad you guys got that problem worked out. I hate when the light doesn't work. It's amazing how much we depend on electricity and everything working properly , isn't it?

I had a car once that kept dying on me. I know a little about cars and knew it was either the battery, alternator, the relay switch or the starter. I started with the battery, that helped for a few days then it died again. I tried the alternator, that worked for a week or two then it died again. I tried the relay, again it only worked for a few days. I eventually got my mom to pay to put it in the shop because I was broke (still living at home). they thought it was the starter and so did I (I couldn't replace it on my own like I could the other things)but, it wasn't. It ran long enough for me to get home then it died in my driveway. I had it towed back to the mechanic and it took him 3 or 4 days to find the problem. . .it was a split wire connected to the starter. After nearly o month of repairs it was finally fixed then it was totalled as I sat at a red light on my way home from work and it wasn't worth repairing the thing anyway.

No I can't remember a time when I had to wait for something to be fixed, at least nothing comes to mind at the moment. I am glad that you have lights again though. I know that would have driven me crazy as well. I am really happy that you don't have to step over electric cords anymore.

wow...that's a great news... im happy for you specially for the kids, they could freely play with lights on... it's really hard to work around the house without electricity...
whenever we have electricity wiring problems, my hubby would check it first then if he can, he would repair it. but whenever there's a simple problem with regards to plumbing and carpentry, i was the one always on guard... last week, this just happened to us, and my husband's really glad he knows a lot about electrical... im glad, too... :)

I do most of the "brain work" involved with fixing stuff in my house. And I do all the electrical stuff. We were remodeling some years ago and when it came time to move the electric switches and boxes I did it. We just didn't have the money budgeted for an electrician because there was so little of it. So it was do without or move them.... Yep I did it and was just too happy!!! My hubby was amazed, which made it even better

oh yeaah i managed to fix many thing by my self,i like to do this and now i can make it for my friend also,for example my i-mate pocket pc phone,something happend with him , first it didnt want to recharge and also sound not clear and the usb cable didnt work coz the soket in phone distroy and when i went to ask for repairing they give my a horrible price to fix it,if i will buy new one i will not pay that much,then i said for myself lets fix it.my wife said noooooo its not easy its electronic and plaaplaaplaaplaa but wt in my head is in my head i said for hear whateverhappend its like nothing now so i will try and i opend the phonee
and woow from inside its amazing everything smaaaaaaaall and green and no wire nothing just someking of electronic circles and lEDes and camera very small and touch screen and so on i dont know if you saw smartphone from inside but its somthing i dont know :)) but i opened it so i must contain :))lol,any way i find the place for charger and usb that didnt work and i was there some small iron things distroyed and becouse this the electricity from chargerer couldnt reach to battary.so i changed that what distroyed with new one and same was in the speakers of the phone and also i cleaned it from inside,and thank god its working again and i didnt pay any cent for repairing,but i think i will sell it :)))) and i alwayes like to fix any things with my hand you can say that i used to do this and i like it,:)) have a good time

Thank you for sharing success story. Sometime it happens. I has problem with my kitche refrigerator. I know a little bit of practical things on home refrigerator. It used to make noise for sometimes then stopped cooling, although compressor running and indication that gas is there.

Beofr stop coling her was some noise in panel whenver the door is closed, in circuit diagram I found that ther is a fan on top of cooling coil. I opened the rear panel and found fan bush worn out. Changed the complet fan motro soending $60 and now the fridge is ok.

I saved more expenses by calling service technician and learned something new.

My Gosh! couple of months!! Hats Off to you lady, we went without power for four days and I went crazy as water also stopped but I feel more than electricity it was the water problem that drove me crazy , with two kids and hubby dear away on tour it was hell and funniest part is after four days when the water supply was restored and electricity came up the sun went behind the clouds and it started pouring heavily. Let with four days of laundry piled up it was really a messy week to live by as especially the Deepawali , our festival of lights was just around in fact I was washing clothes the whole of that day and preparing meals too. It was a real hard week that we spent and I can really imagine your relief after the electricity was restored.

Oh, congratulation! at last it was fixed! So far, i can't remember situation that i have gone thru similar to you. but if i will, i'm sure it will be fixed too. thanks for sharing..
