Here is a list of the Circuit City stores that will be closing by December 31, 2008: ALABAMA Anniston & Trussville ARKANSAS Fayetteville ARIZONA Avondale, Chandler, Gilbert, Goodyear, Mesa (2), Peoria, Phoenix (4), Queen Creek, & Scottsdale CALIFORNIA City of Industry, Compton, Concord, Dublin, Escondido, Fairfield, Fontana, Foothill Ranch, Fremont, Merced, Mira Loma, Moreno Valley, Morgan Hill, Murrieta, Palo Alto, Pittsburg, Pomona, Richmond, Riverside, San Rafael, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Thousand Oaks, & Vista COLORADO Colorado Springs, Northglenn, & Parker CONNECTICUT Orange FLORIDA Jacksonville (2), Naples, Orlando, Panama City, Tallahassee, & Vero Beach GEORGIA Acworth, Alpharetta, Atlanta (4), Bogart, Buford, Conyers, Cumming, Douglasville, Duluth, Hiram, Kennesaw, Macon, Morrow, Newnan, Snellville, & Warner Robins ILLINOIS Arlington Heights, Batavia, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Calumet City, Chicago, Countryside, Crystal Lake, Joliet, Zurich, Niles, Oswego, South Barrington, & Vernon Hills INDIANA Clarksville, Indianapolis, Lafayette, & South Bend KANSAS Lenexa & Overland Park KENTUCKY Lexington, Louisville, & Paducah LOUISIANA Baton Rouge, Kenner, Marrero, & Slidell MARYLAND Baltimore, Beltsville, & Marlow Heights MICHIGAN Auburn Hills, Bloomfield, Dearborn, Jackson, Muskegon, Pontiac, & Rochester Hills MISSOURI Ferguson, Independence, & Kansas City (2) MISSISSIPPI Tupelo NORTH CAROLINA Charlotte NEW JERSEY Freehold & Livingston NEVADA Sparks NEW YORK Bay Shore, Bronx, Brooklyn, Holbrook, Lake Grove, Massapequa, New York, & West Nyack OHIO Brooklyn, Cincinnati, Columbus (2), Cuyahoga Falls, Elyria, Garfield Heights, Grove City, Mansfield, Mayfield Heights, & Mentor OKLAHOMA Norman & Oklahoma City TENNESSEE Antioch, Collierville, Memphis, & Spring Hill TEXAS Burleson, Cedar Park, Dallas, Houston, League City, Mansfield, McKinney, Sherman, & Temple VIRGINIA Charlottesville, Manassas, & McLean WASHINGTON Federal Way WISCONSIN Milwaukee How many of these stores are in your area? There are really none near me in South Florida, but I will bet you that it will be coming if the economy does not improve soon. What is sad is all of those people who will now be losing their jobs. Best Buy always did have better prices and better customer service than Circuit City but I do hate to see them go. I just bought 3 computers from them last year. Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

That is so sad, look at all the people who will be looking for work. Will not be a good Christmas for those folks. I don't see the one in the city where I live on the list which really does surprise me.

I am sorry that so many people are going to be impacted by this. It is another symptom of our ailing economy. I hope that this will help them in the long run, though.

Yep, I heard about this about the same time I heard about how Starbucks has MASSIVE losses recently (nearly all of their profits are now gone, apparently). I haven't really done alot of shopping at Circuit city. We're pretty rural out here, and my family's never been well off to do a ton of electronics shopping (and we're not big tech people either)...so yeah.. But I am sad in knowing what this will mean for a ton of people's jobs.

I always preferred Best Buy to Circuit City but it is sad about the people losing thier jobs. It is not in my city yet though, so I guess we will still have the competition factor.

Yes, I prefer Best Buy myself too. That, or Amazon.com. I do price match with the Circuit City flyer at Best Buy all the time. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!

Well, they fired all the people who knew anything about a year ago and hired new people in order to save money. When you went into the store after that, nobody could help you with anything, so people went elsewhere. Circuit City has only itself to blame and I have no sympathy for them. They put their greed before taking care of the people who helped them make money and they got what they deserved. I can't understand how a business can pay management the big bucks when they make such stupid decisions. I'll happily offer stupid, senseless ideas for the kind of pay those company officers make!

I didn't know that they had fired people a year ago over this. I had just heard this news the other day and was surprised to hear it. I bet they will end up closing the remaining stores too. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!
