How many of these stores are in your area? There are really none near me in South Florida, but I will bet you that it will be coming if the economy does not improve soon. What is sad is all of those people who will now be losing their jobs.
Best Buy always did have better prices and better customer service than Circuit City but I do hate to see them go. I just bought 3 computers from them last year.

I am sorry that so many people are going to be impacted by this. It is another symptom of our ailing economy. I hope that this will help them in the long run, though.

Yep, I heard about this about the same time I heard about how Starbucks has MASSIVE losses recently (nearly all of their profits are now gone, apparently).
I haven't really done alot of shopping at Circuit city. We're pretty rural out here, and my family's never been well off to do a ton of electronics shopping (and we're not big tech people either)...so yeah..
But I am sad in knowing what this will mean for a ton of people's jobs.

I always preferred Best Buy to Circuit City but it is sad about the people losing thier jobs. It is not in my city yet though, so I guess we will still have the competition factor.

Well, they fired all the people who knew anything about a year ago and hired new people in order to save money. When you went into the store after that, nobody could help you with anything, so people went elsewhere. Circuit City has only itself to blame and I have no sympathy for them. They put their greed before taking care of the people who helped them make money and they got what they deserved.
I can't understand how a business can pay management the big bucks when they make such stupid decisions. I'll happily offer stupid, senseless ideas for the kind of pay those company officers make!
