I started my weaving, I have a pond done, some grass, and two trees started.

My begining weaving. - Grass and pond, started trees, a lot more left to do. Need to do fish, mountains, sun, clouds, etc.

I have a long way to go before Christmas and to figure a way to put a fish in the pond. It will be for my brother and he loves fishing. So I thought a weaving would be neat. Hope I get it done for Christmas, if not, it will be for his birthday since I'm working on other things for him anyway. I still have to put in mountains, sun, clouds, maybe a church, maybe not. Maybe some sand near the pond, maybe not. Still thinking and working on it. So what have you started? Will it be finished in time? What does it look like so far? What more do you have to do on it? Are some thing optional and some not? Thanks and take care.

Now that I have 2 part time jobs, I don't know if I will get it done on time, but I'll try. Take care.

That looks really good. I don't know how to weave. Is it easy? I've made wooden things before. This year I can't seem to think of anything to make for gifts. I have made ornaments tho. I have almost all handmade ornaments on my tree. That weaving looks like a lot of work but it looks like it would be fun. I'm sure your brother will enjoy it. Have a good lotting day.

So cool! I doubt I would have the patience to try such a project. Maybe when I have more time on my hands I could give it a try. Intricate work like this tends to frustrate me.

I alternate between repetitive stuff using larger motor skills and stuff that requires thought and fine motor skills. That way, when it starts to get on my nerves, I just switch to something else. Take care

I have not weaved since I was in my teens. The first loom I got was a child's one and I made some mats. I do have another loom in one of my dresser drawers but have been so busy writing that I have not used it. However, I have made some birthday cards by using colored paper and pasting on pictures I got from travel brochures.

Those birthday cards sound neat. My first weaving was a pot holder, then a place mat, then later on a table runner. Haven't done anything in years since. I hope this turns out and gets done in time.

All the technical info like size, kind, etc. is at: http://www.hallnet.com/Build.html That should come up, if it doesn't, I did it before and the one above you comes up. Those are the instructions I gave to my husband to build me one. The bottom has a link for how to work the loom. I think when it's finished, the piece will be 6 to 8 inches across and 16 to 18 inches high, it might even go 20 inches. We'll see. I hope the image I see in my head continues to unfold in the weaving. Take care.

I just looked at the instructions again. 6 to 8 across is possible, but the 18 to 20 long isn't because it only is 16 inches long. I guess it just looks longer to me. Guess I can't estimate length, but I can width. So based on that, it should be 12 to 14 inches long when I get done. Take care

Hey writers edge. Your weaving sounds lovely. I don't know anything about that. I bet your brother's gift is gonna be beautiful. Lately, I've been trying to finish all my unfinished knitting projects. I have been knocking them out! I've got about 5 or 6 left. After than, I'm gonna start looking for patterns to knit to use up the different types of yarn I have in my "stash." You know, the yarn you buy just because you want it but you don't know what you are going to do with it? That is a VERY bad habit. So now, I have made the rule that I cannot buy any new yarn til I knit up at least 50% of what I have. I took inventory and I have about 30 skeins of assorted yarns! That's embarrassing. So, I've been finishing projects. I just finished 3 small clutch purses that I knit, lined, and sewed a pretty antique-looking button on. I also finished the outside of 2 knitting needle cases, one for my straight needles and one for my circular needles. Next, I have to felt them, then I have to make the liner with pockets, then sew the liner in. Still alot of work to go on those 2 but at least the knitting part is done. And, I finished a poncho that just needed the fringe put on. Also, I finished knitting the 4th placemat of a set of 4. It looked better than the other 3!! I think my knitting has actually improved over the past year, my stitches are more even and just look nicer. Well, I have gone on...

I usually try to take snapshots of my knitted items as I keep a knitting journal. I do sometimes forget to get pictures of items before I give them away but I'm planning to take some pics. We'll see if I remember to upload them on to myLot.
