Perhaps this cartoon is old, but I think it's very good for children anyway. When I was a child, I liked to watch a Japanese cartoon called ????(The Smart Yi Xiu). It is about an intelligent little monk's story. It's not violent at all and it is very educational.

The cartoons I know of are old, I mean very old. It depends on the age of the child. If he is 5 and younger, I would suggest Tom and Jerry. It is slapstick and it isn't scary or overly violent. If he is 6-10, I would suggest The Flintstones. It is a sitcom in animate form. If he is 11-17, The Simpsons would be great. It is a sit com but it has more plot and language that teens would relate to.

The Flintstones first aired in the 60's, then they re aired in the 70's.It is set in prehistoric times. But it is a family sit com. I am not sure if they are on DVD yet.It was a cute little show.a few years back they made a Live action film version. It may be on DVD. I haven't seen the film but if you can find it, you can see the theme of the cartoon.

This is an interesting question my friend, I think because I love the Pink Panther I would recommend this cartoon for my children, he is a lovely character and very funny too, children thrive on humour and it's good for both the adult and child to watch together because both can garner enjoyment from the cartoon.

I recommend Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, its on cable, Playhouse Disney Channel. Its very educational, they teach about colors, shapes, helping others, problem solving. There are also a lot of others like Higglytown Heroes, Little Einstein...etc. I think all the cartoons in that channel is screened to be sure that there is no violence and that it is all very educational for the kids

there are just too many cartoons on tv nowadays, and some are really 'not suitable' for children..
for instance 'spongebob' maybe 'cute' - i dont like the show at all.. i dont see any good 'teachings' from it..
we have 'disney channel','cartoon network' and 'nickleodeon'- but i would rather have my children watch the 'disney channel' - a lot more 'educational', 'safe' cartoons there, more suitable for young children compared to the other two channels.
but there is one cartoon on disney i dont let my children watch - 'Mr.Bean' - i dont like that show..

Hello youless. I also watched the cartoon you talked about and like it very much. It was very popular in the eighties and almost all the kids and young people used to watch it a lot. But it seems that this cartoon is seldom shown on TV.

THe cartoons we had when I was younger were great! They had a lesson in each. Mostly about playing fair. Now a days everything is so violent. If I had to think of a cartoon that I would recommend to children, It would be The all star laff olympics. It had the Yogi Yahooeys, Scooby Dooby's and the Really Rottens. The Really Rottens would try to cheat while the others played the game fairly. THus, the really rottens never won unless they followed the rules. THis cartoon taught good sportmanship, honesty and how to win or lose properly. These days nothing even begins to represent these same ideas. I think with all the things happening in school sports the ALL STAR LAFF OLYMPICS could be beneficial to our youth. dl

When I was a child I didn't remember watching a cartoon, because I grew up in a society where there were no television as it was not allowed due to the religion of the whole place. So everybody who lives there have no television, but now I would recommend " The sound of music and The Simpsons" cartoons to all of the kids in my family.

My children loves watching cartoons. And if I have time, I watched with them so I can censor which cartoons should be avoided watching. I only prohibit those that shows too much fighting, blood and killings. For obvious reasons.

I'm not familiar with the new cartoons nowadays. But if I want a cartoon for my child in the future, it would be Doraemon. It find it fun to watch and educational in nature. It is an animation for kids where they will really learn and have fun.
