Do You Give To Any Charities This Time Of Yr?  

Yes, I usually donate clothes to the Salvation Army. And I have done this in September. I gave so much of my baby clothes for my daughters away. I love donating clothes to others. It makes me feel very good. I like to see others very happy and smiling. I never throw away good clothing. Someone could use them.. Giving is something that I enjoy doing most of the time..

"Give, and it shall be given unto you..." is God's secret of blessing as written in the Scriptures - Luke 6:38. Giving opens the door to receiving and is the brother of the law of sowing and reaping. Therefore, it is always blessed to give than to receive. This time of the year and in any day, we can choose to give, to help others in need and be a blessing to someone. Congratulations for being a giver. For me, I have nothing to boast. My God knows.

I do what I can. I give money to the Salvation Army, donate to food banks and clothing banks, Toys for Tots, just about any of the charity people that you see coming out at this time of year.

I knit hats and scarves for children and donate them to homeless shelters. I'm going to be adding mittens to them so I'll have complete sets. I know it's hard on adults when they have nothing and need all the help they can get, but I think it's even worse on the children since this is an extremely impressionable time in their lives. I hope that, in some small way, the children will feel a little bit better by my efforts. One day soon I hope to be able to add blankets and rag dolls to the things I make for these children.

Yes I do give every year. I give through out the year to the food bank in my area. I also give other house hold items and clothing. I don't take the tax credit either because I think it defeats the purpose of giving. I also drop what ever cash and change I have when I see the Red Kettle.

With the economic situation being what it is lately and us being on a fixed income. The donations of money and gifts has slowed considerably. The main thing we try to give is our time. We have plenty of that and we can still help those in need. Something like this would open the eyes of those who have everything. Just seeing how some people have to live and what they have to live with would make people appreciate what they do have and want to help those that have little or nothing. I think that is even more important around the holidays. Just seems the right thing to do.

I have always given to the Salvation Army.
I've used them for services before and I feel others need it as well now so we throw a lot of change into their buckets each year. I also volunteer at the A.A. club for their Thanksgiving Meal. I've also volunteered for Toys for Tots in the past as well.

hello KrauseHome, i usually give money to the Salvation Army and this year i'm going to start a tradition to pick a child's angel on the christmas tree at Wal-mart to be a secret santa. happy posting!

Of course I give to my church. I also give to the feed your neighbor program. I also give to a few charities thru the mail. Around this time of year when I see the Salvation Army with their kettles, I try to at least put a dollar in each time. I figure if I am walking past one of them, that means I can afford to put a dollar in. I have also been on the receiving end of getting and needing help, I still do. All we really have to do is have faith, our God will provide our needs for us, he always comes thru.

We give to our church on a regular basis and our church helps in natural disasters on a national level. We help in other ways locally as well.
This year I made two baby quilts and I'm taking it to my MOPS (mothers of pre-schoolers) meeting tomorrow and we are going to tie the quilts. I will finish the edges and then donate them to a local mission rescue in the same town.

It's fun to do and the sewing is something I enjoy occasionally and since my husband won't allow me to keep everything i make, I want to give it to someone who really needs a warm blanket. So I'm really looking forward to donating these quilts. Hopefully this winter I can make some more.
