My grandfather started reading the ingredients in pumpkin pie filling one year. He found most of them used 20-50% sweet potatoes to improve the flavor. After that he decided to try making a strait sweet potato pie. He used sweet potatoes in place of pumpkin and did everything else the same as a pumpkin pie. It tasted like a really good pumpkin pie and most people didn't know it wasn't. (I was there when he made it so I wasn't fooled but I would have been)

Yeah, but you live further north, so you get the lake effect from the great lakes don't you? So your winters are much worse than what we get, but it is still icky.. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Yes lots of Lake effect yucky stuff.. We are in Mahoning County. Carl and I!

we're between two snow bands so we get lake effect but it's just messy. If we get an inch you can figure Warren(just north of us)got 3-4 and Columbiana(just south) got around 6". We get lucky really.

We are kind of in between fronts too..North and South of us usually gets the worse of any storm, snow,rain,tornado, etc... But we live on a man made lake, so we get the very cold winds, and this is why we planted pine trees in the front, but one looks like it died from the drought this year..:(

Thank Louise, it was only one tree, but I do have another pine almost in front of it and a red bud..The red bud is not as good as the pine, but it is better than nothing...;)

Carl is not going. He will be manning the fort while I am gone. He is going to his Moms house for Thanksgiving! ( See I have the baby sitter all lined up! )

i can remember when my Boys were young having Christmas at my house and everyone coming, it was easier on me. They were in their own home, and knew what all they were allowed to do. I liked making those memories!

Happy Belated thanksgiving to those in Canada. It's great to share a holiday with our neighbors, even if they do it early. Come too think of it, it might be more fun if I had someone to celebrate with in Canada. 2 turkey days!!!
