It is said that his cancer is back and spreading and that he is saying his good byes to his loved onces. I was so sad reading this. It is not fair when a person has x days to live and knows his end is near. He is one of the few rare actors that hardly ever gave reason to raise eyebrows like many do. He was with the same women for 33 years (I think thats how long it is) some actors change 33 women in a year. I remember I was 8 years old when Dirty dancing came out and everyone (my sister and cousins) were allowed to see it and I wasnt but later I watched the music clip and me and my sister learned to do the steps it was so fun. So he is part of my childhod.
Do you feel sad about him and what is happening to him? What are your best memories of him?

How is knowing you have x days to live unfair? I would love to know that right now for my own life. It gives everything relativity in your life. However, it is sad that he has cancer and this time it is not good. I remember watching Dirty Dancing as a kid and enjoying it.

I would not like it if I knew I had x days to live I would get so sad because of the kids not because I was going to die. Or knowing that someone close is going to die in x days I would be very sad for them.
I was only allowed to watch Dirty dancing when I was about 12 I think before that it was always on tv late at night but once i was allowed to rent videos by my self that was one of the first I rented.

I think he is a wonderful actor! I didn't know the end was so close for him! I think the world will be missing a very special person when he passes...for me Dirty Dancing was the highlight .....then Ghost....he is very talented...and will truly be missed!

I see this discussion is from awhile ago but I thought I'd post and say Patrick Swayze is on TV tonight, Wed. Jan. 7 at 10 pm on ABC in an interview with Barbara Walters. From what I read he told her his time may be short but he's still fighting. He's been in my prayers and will continue to be.

That is so sad. I hadn't known this till now. I knew Patrick Swayze as Demi Moore's partner on Ghost. I also have always mistook him with Kurt Russell as they have similar facial features for me. Though I do not remember any other movie with him, I hadn't watched Dirty Dancing, I know that he was a very good actor. I know how terrible any man may have to undergo battling cancer. I just wish that he will not suffer that much and that his good days bring him to a better place.

Pancreatic cancer is usually fatal. There was an initial denial about how serious his condition was. I guess we all have to go some time but I think most of us want to wear out in our old age. Too sad that anyone has to end this way but cancer of all types is still a big killer is spite of the news you keep hearing about new treatments. I guess at least he got to do what he wanted to in his acting career, sad it will be cut short.

Well now there is a report that he is not as bad as it was reported but he is not in remision but it is still not a great news. And the survival is just 5% with this cancer so to bit it you must be very lucky

This really is very sad news. He was a gentleman and very few men are like him in the acting world today.
I always liked him and I do not think I have ever heard a bad thing said about him either. I will aleays remember Dirty Dancing. He made that movie and was excellent at acting in it and such a good dancer. This would be my childhood favourite movie too.
My thoughts are with him and his family. God only picks the best and he will certainly teach those angels how to move up there. Tale care Violeta@violeta_va (4831)

you are right he was one of few rare wasnt he. What makes me mad is that people are saying Good he was a drinker and smoker serves him right, for gods sake no one deserves this (sorry some people do like pedofiles).
It is not just the acting in Dirty dancing its the story line as well it had abit of everything in it thats why we were allowed to watch it at early age.
