The Movie, "War, Inc." - Truth or Fiction?  

It got very little publicity and some of the mainstream critics panned it. I probably wouldn't have ever heard of it either if it weren't for our buddy Keith Olbermann! He had John Cusack on his show months ago, before the movie was even released, and they talked about the similarities between the movie and the realities in Iraq. It seems that for some strange reason the movies that have been made that make a statement about our government tend to disappear. Someone doesn't want us to see them, apparently!

I really do recommend it, Lil. I guess it's not a movie everybody would "get" but you're very intelligent and informed so I know you'll like it. There's one scene with Dan Ackroyd as the former V.P. on webcam sitting on the toilet. He's the head of a company that's been contracted to do the rebuilding in this fictional country we've just been at war with and he said if he was still the V.P. that would be a definite conflict of interest. The war is supposedly "over" but there are still bombs going off all over the place. It's hard to describe but it's funny and worth watching.

I know what you mean, I watched it and laughed and thought "OMG - this COULD be almost true!!" in the same breath. Maybe even a little bit more than "almost"...

I waited for it to come out and it never played anywhere near me so that's why I jsut got to see it about a week or so ago when it finally came out on DVD. John Cusack is someone I not only like a lot as an actor but I really respect him because he literally puts his money where his mouth is and when he does talk about politics (which you know so many can't stand when celebrities do so!) he knows what he's talking about.
