Which do you like better? Real or artifical? |
|
Ok talking Christmas trees here. What is your preference? Some people like real trees. I do too. But I don't like all the clean up and the water. And I have seen so many that turn brown before Christmas. It is a real shame. So we have a fake one. And it looks just as nice. And we save on the purchase and disposal after.

1. AmbiePam (15220) | 1 year ago | Growing up, we had both kinds. When my sister and were younger we had fake Christmas trees. When we became teenagers my parents would get a real Christmas tree. Not the huge ones, but in between small and large, I guess a medium sized one. It was actually better than a fake tree. The fake tree would have to be taken down and lugged back into the garage. The fake tree went next to the curb for pickup the day after Christmas.

2. vicki2876 (3247) | 1 year ago | We pretty much always had fake trees growing up and now. There were a few times that we got a free real tree, but I would not spend the $30 for a real tree once, where I bought our fake on for $20 and it has already lasted five years, and has many more years to go. Seems like a waste of trees and money. Plus I have to find a place to put the tree when we were done. They have to be specially chipped. Also they have to be watered and the needles need to be cleaned a lot. My daughter can't go near the needles as she rashes with the points of the needles. I think fake also gives more flexibility of when and how long you have your tree up.

3. drknlvly6781 (3163) | 1 year ago | For me it will always be an artificial tree. I already don't like tinsel, because it gets all over the house and you are vacuuming it up until March lol. What am I to do with a tree that is shedding its needles from the moment you put it up? But that isn't the main reason why I will never get a real tree. My mom is allergic to pine trees. She can't even be around a person who has a real tree at their home, because the smell sets her to sneezing. So always artificial trees for me.

4. lilybug (15252) | 1 year ago | I like both, but like you I do not like the cleaning up of all the needles when Christmas is over. I could just go out back and grab a tree and cut it down and put it in the house, but they are not really the right kind of pine trees. I think I will stick with a artificial this year again.

5. katsmeow1213 (4861) | 1 year ago | I like real trees, but we have a fake one. Not only is it cheaper to have a fake one, but like you said, it looks nicer and there's no horrible clean up. I usually forgot to water the real tree, and got so tired of vacuuming up the needles. Also real trees usually look a bit off to me, like crooked or not simetrical. That can tend to irritate me, lol.

6. DaddyOfTheRose (2802) | 1 year ago | If you buy a fake tree and keep it for several years, I think Mother Earth appreciates that. The waste and clutter are important things to remember, as most Christmas trees will need to be thrown in the yard waste disposal system after the holidays. I just don't think that's necessary.

10. Porcospino (2611) | 1 year ago | I have never had an artificial christmas tree. In my country we use real christmas trees, and I have never seen a fake christmas tree except on tv! A real tree is messy and it not always easy finding a nice one, but I still prefer a real tree. Actually I have never thought much about this question, because everyone buys real christmas trees around here.
