Yesterday I was called at the clerk's office because they wanted to verify something. Our boss bought an office furniture, a pigeon hole for letters for all the staff but it seems that its size is not adequate. It is too narrow to even hold one letter. When confronted by this he brought the lame excuse that he was under the instruction of the health and safety teacher (refering to me). GRRR I did not even know that it ws going to be bought let alone that I told him somthing like that. Has something like this ever happened to you?

I HATE THIS WHEN PEOPLE BLAME ME FOR THINGS I HAVEN'T DONE.
If I've done something I will take my knocks for it.
My father-in-law did this sort of thing. We had an argument in my yard a few years ago. He went around to all the family and told them that I had kicked him off my property. LIES, LIES, LIES!! I did not. But I now wish I had, since they all still believe his lies anyway, no matter what I say.
My husband does something almost as bad. He assumes something not in evidence, but just a guess on his part. Then since he believes it to be a fact, he gives me grief over it as if it is true, when, in fact, it is an incorrect assumption on his part. This happens all the time and it just infuriates me.

Hi rinaldinu,
That is disgusting, you have to have it out with the person who said it was you who told him, face to face with with this person, so you won't be accuse of saying things that you didn't, I think it is very bad, stand up for yourself or you willbe scapgot all the time.

That is not good. I surely hope you just didn't sit quietly and let this happen? There is a time and place to take stuff sitting down but this isn't one of them. Yes it has as I am sure it has happened to everyone a few times in their life at least.

Well your Boss resorted to lying and he will be held accountable for that. You are a victim for being under him you have no recourse but just agree to become the scapegoat. I happened to me many times and oftentimes it is my Boss who is the culprit. Well, well, well, do you think Bosses have one thing in common?

all the time when I was employed full time
but that's what work is all about isn't it?
I am sure everyone feels the pressure right now that there is crisis going on

LOL =D Who will even believe that it's under your instruction to buy the offiece furniture, when it's your boss whom bought it.. lol =D Also, what has that furniture got to do with health and safety?? lol =D
For ple or even the person whom believe in him, they are very stupid, and he himself able to make up such an excuse, he's even more stupid, and u should be laughing at him, but not being angry at him.. lol

No, I've never been in a position where I would be able to order something without someone else approving it so I can't be a scapegoat. Just return them or exchange them! You take charge and show that you know what you are doing and your boss is an inept jerk.

Yes, I have been used as a scapegoat but on a more serious matter and it stinks!!!
I would say, that from now on, anyone who does not have proof in writing, is totally responsible for their actions.

I'm never going to be in that position again because now I work for myself. But I've experienced it in the past and I feel for you. The gracious thing for your boss to do would have been to accept that he made a mistake and needs to put it right. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, often it's the best way to learn. But for you I'm afraid the only thing to do is soldier on, keep smiling and don't let him know he's upset you. You know you are in the clear and I expect lots of other people do as well. I don't suppose for a minute that this sort of thing will do your boss any good in the long term. Just make sure that, when you have really good ideas, you boss is never in a position to claim them for himself.
