I've never even thought about the horn being dangerous. I guess a lot of people think that unicorns are meek and dainty but they have those horns to stab and pierce others as well.

This is all imaginary so in that imaginary world, no, I don't really have a problem with heights.

I used to before but now that I can actually get on one, I'm not going to.

A neighboring town holds this annual air balloon thing around summer and I keep wanting to just witness them all taking off because I'm sure it would be a pretty sight but then they do it like really early in the morning so I haven't been able to. Also, they offer rides like this in Wine Country for a lot of tourists but I think you got to pay a couple hundred to do so...

Hahahaha! I was going to say unicorns are for pansies, but I like the way you put it much better! I am trying to be less abrasive, but it is very unfamiliar ground to me, and I couldn't think of a nice word for pansy, so I just left it out altogether.

Yeah, zigzag, I was always somewhat suspicious of that whole thing about the unicorns having young ladies on their laps. Now a centaur, that is a whole different matter. I think a spear-throwing centaur and a fire-breathing dragon could get along just fine.

At first, I was going to take note as to the choices and how it is gender-related, drannhh and ziggy. My hypothesis was that most women would go with the unicorn and the men would go for the dragon.

Saying that, I, of course, had a feeling that you both would be the exceptions.

Plus, drannhh, you do have a good point there with dreamers and "actors".

I'm not so sure that it is gender-specific, as Daffodil chose the dragon too. Do you know someone once gave me a print of St. George and the Dragon for my office wall? I'm so glad it wasn't a print of a unicorn, rfl. But seriously, I thought when I was expressing my choice that you might yourself prefer the unicorn, so I wanted to be tactful. Tact does not come easily to fire-breathing dragons, however.

Finally, although Bellaraphon's steed in the Greek classic was decidedly not a unicorn, he has sometimes been depicted as such in fantasy art, so I had to think a minute on that one. Then I said, "Whoa!"

I seriously can't decide on which one, not because I like both, but because I'm indifferent to either. Unicorns don't really fascinate me, I don't think so. My Little Pony did when I was younger but I don't think I've ever imagined myself riding into the sunset on a unicorn. Same as the dragon. I fancy myself as adventurous enough but I guess not to that extent of riding one. I am trying to think what other creature I could ride but I can't think of one at all. I know, I know, I should pick one since I posted this discussion. I was interested as to what others had to say.

Yes, those rides do exist. However, I would guess, knowing SaintAnne as I do, that the question IS indeed hypothetical.

One of many things I have learned in my life is to never get taken for a ride, especially if it is by a unicorn or dragon.

It is hypothetical, elitess and you can only ride ONE. I didn't know about the existing man-made rides. But yes, I know the difference between a unicorn and pegasus.

So as the prince charming of your Disney Princess, elitess, which one would you ride to swoop her off into the sunset of happy ever after?

The dragon for sure, it would be the ride of a lifetime. However, being an Englishman I am suffering mental torture here. Our patron saint( I wish it was you) is Saint George and he is famous for slaying the dragon. Do I have to do the same once the ride is over? If so, then I can't get too attached and go giving him(or her) a name. I know it sounds cruel and heartless, but if it is good enough for a saint, then it must surely be good enough for a mere mortal like myself.
