In these terrible economic times, how can you have fun for little to no money?
On Fridays, my daughter doesn't have school. This is our day to spend together. She has a guitar lesson from 12:30 to 1:00 pm, so we plan our day around this. When the weather was nicer, we always took a picnic to the park closest to her lesson. It didn't matter the food we packed, it was the time together. We would eat, read and she would play her guitar. It was so relaxing! I can't wait for the weather to get better! Other things we did/do - We have seen every museum around, we go to all three public libraries every week, we have hit antique stores (we don't buy anything, just look), we have walked around our down town entertainment district. We also like to hit our second hand stores. This week we are pressed for time, but next week we will check out the Christmas decorations.
My boyfriend and I, for our time together, we hit wine tastings, beer tastings. We will snuggle up at home, make popcorn and download a movie off the internet, watch it on the big screen.
I am active in the community so I get into a lot of activities free. We always hit the Bluesfest, Octoberfest, all of our local concerts and festivals. The Holiday season, I am invited to the city parties (I serve on local boards) so we stay very active and pay nothing!
So, what do you do? Any ideas for cheap to free entertainment?

I wish I had ideas. I'm out of ideas really. It would be nice to be able to do things and not have to worry about paying a heavy price just to do something. My partner and I are pretty boring, in fact we don't do much of anything at all. If we do happen to do something, it's usually just walking around a store or something and sometimes that leads to buying something so we never truly are not spending anything.

We usually buy a zoo membership so we can go to our zoo as often as we like for free, and it's a good deal, because for my family, so long as we've made 2 trips to the zoo a year, we've paid for the membership. It also gets us into other zoos for free, so sometimes for a change of scenery we drive to one that's an hour or so away.
When it's really warm out we used to go to a free beach, or to my husband's cousin's place on the lake, but we havn't done that in awhile because last summer's weather was not very warm.
We also belong to blockbuster.com and hubby and I will watch movies a few times a week. We usually get a family movie each week too to watch on the weekend with the kids.
