Do you do an End Of Year Spell or Ritual?

well like with any religion things praying, spells etc really relies on that persons faith and if its meant to be.. nothings going to be like it is on tv as far as spell wise but i have had good luck with spells working out but i also only do them for things i need and not just for anything that pops into my mind which i think is what stops a lot of success..

i have got the negative people out of my life personally but they still affect people around me which affects me which i cant do much about personally.. not to mention going through a lot of bad situations i dont want to keep any negative energy on me that is from anything that has happened.. etc

i would say that anything could be better than 2008 but i am afraid i would jinx myself and some how 2009 be worse lol

well i know last year i did a cleansing one from all the bad stuff that had happened so i wouldnt bring the baggage to the new year and then i did a binding spell to keep the people that want negative things to happen to me to stay away and then i did a money and luck spell..

this year i want to do about the same but i want to do it different so it doesnt feel the same and less special.. i feel as if i would be recycling the same and that it wouldnt work as well or something lol

Well you know I was thinking maybe I would just do a new commital service.
You know commit myself to Jesus again and let him remove all the bad memories and things that happened in 2008. I know for sure that he can only make things better for me in 2009.

Sorry for butting in here....I had answered the discussion here and noticed your response. Um....if you didn't know of any spells why did you answer? Isn't that against the rules to give meaningless replies of no substance? Just wondering since you were so picky to one of my friends discussions about a guidelines issue

yeah that was partly how i did mine last year..

was it waxing last year??? i dont remember and thanks for reminding me that it is now.. i am a total airhead when it comes to remembering the phases of the moon which is really pathetic since im wiccan.. but im never outside to where i think to look up.. i need to get a desktop moon phase thing or something lol

I just looked now...I have Llewellyn's Witches Datebook, and yup the moon phase was in the waxing phase last year also...so to do a banishing/cleansing kind of spell during a waxing phase is a definite no-no...LOL

sorry pye.. ive gotta disagree with the whole waxing waning full or new no no taboo guidelines. while certain factors may add some oomph to certain rituals.. it doesnt necessarilly cause any failures of any kind to do them at whatever point you feel the need/want. least not in any of my own personal experiences. also havent ever had to "rhyme" anything either for it to have impact. usually, its just a focused thought.

haha figures.. i know i have read before that you shouldnt do anything that doesnt go with the phases but i have also read that you it wont go against what you are trying to do but it wont give it any extra help as if it was coordinated to help with one (if that makes any sense.. i did just have a little bit of champagne before writing lol) i do rhyme things but thats because it helps me with my concentration since i have add.. i didnt get my spell/ritual together as planned yet but i think i will take a different approach to where it will coordinate better with the moon thanks!

i have been lazy too honestly.. i know your suppose to make sure you have enough spiritual energy for doing them and i have a lot of health issues so the regular energy isnt there so some times trying to get things together to do an official candles/tools/rituals/etc etc type thing just isnt happening.. i do need to press myself to maybe do it on days i dont feel fully up to it just because of the good days being far between i guess.. lol.. that and it seems life gets crazier by the second to where as soon as i try to make time something happens and im not able to do it etc..

I know what you mean. On top of the health issues I've had to replace a busted water pipe ( around 500 feet long ) of the Christmas holidays. Not an easy task at all with our weather. I get to finish filling the trench today soon as I get moving....

when i smudged my house and my yard it did great but i kept feeling like crap to where i wasnt up to doing it again.. i seriously need to do it again

in addition to or as a replacement of the sage smudging.. you can try boiling cloves. small pan of water half a dozen or so whole cloves tossed in, bring to a boil and let it simmer for an hour or two. its great for scattering off negativities in every little nook and cranny of yer entire house.. and it smells really good too

tessah i havent tried cloves but i think i will since it would be something different and i actually have some.. seems like i am usually out of whatever i am needing so i should jump on it since its a rarity i have the items lol

i do the clove thing in the spring coupled along with the swimming. i clean my house from top to bottom till everythings shiny and then boil the cloves when its all done to get rid of any residuals. theres all sorts of stuff that you would normally have in yer house or can find outside without too too much troubles that you can use rather than hunting around overly priced occult stores that ive found either work just as well.. or even better in some instances. fancy pants pine incense or oils can be easilly replaced by simply going outside and gaffing some needles and a twig or two off a tree. they burn very nicely, and have a better less "perfumey" scent to them too. dunno where you live.. but quartz is easilly found where i am by simply going out and kicking around in my driveway for a few minutes LOL might not be all shiny and polished up as a point youd find in a store.. but it is in its natural state and untampered with which i kinda prefer over a rock thats been sitting on a shelf in some store thats been handled by umpteen billion people before you and then takes a chunk out of yer wallet as well. sage is EASY to grow on yer own, buy a little string and ya can make yer own smudge sticks for pennies of what they cost you, and again.. theyre only ever touched by the dirt and YOU. the list goes on and on. with money being commonly scarce over the years, ive gotten rather good at improvising and creating my own. theres no rule says you gotta get yer mats in an "official" store.. putting yer own energies into what yer using only adds more strength to yer intent, and isnt that the overall purpose in the first place?

yeah you never know what kind of energy is on things you get at the store which is why i hate buying things through them

i gotta go thru the troubles and hassels of purifying everything i buy.. so unless its a peice i cant make for myself.. i try as much as i can to use what i can find around me. thankfully the packet of sage seeds i planted a few years ago has turned into a bush that comes nearly to my waist LOL mixed with some cedar and voila.. i have about 2 dozen smudge sticks every year.
