The temperatures tonight here in the New York area are expected to be below zero adding in the wind chill factors. Would you wait in such temperatures to see the ball drop?
There is no way I would, I hate the cold, and if I needed to see the ball I would watch it from the comfort and warmth of my own home.
Some people are in times square now, and there is still eleven and a half hours to go. BRRRRRR
Happy New Year

My son really likes the cold, I don't know where he gets that from. Both my wife and I like enjoy warm weather. My oldest daughter doesn't like the cold either. I think my son just likes the idea of throwing snow balls. We get very little snow here and whenever we do the city shuts down. I sometimes envy the northerners who can all deal with the elements much better than I can.
As for me though, I wouldn't be caught anywhere in zero weather just to watch a ball or in my case a peach drop from a tall mechanism in the sky. Wacko if you asked me. Some folks can deal with the cold weather because the are too drunk to tell the difference, I don't drink so I can't relate to that either.
Have a happy new year yourself, be warm and feel better after quickly getting over your cold.

People have already started gathering in Times Square, it's crazy. With the windows closed in the house you can hear the wind whistling outside. I think my mail blew away, because the wind blew the mailbox open, but I see no mail
Take care.

Um no I dont think so I would rather just watch it on tv instead of going to new york. If I was going to watch the ball drop I would want to go somewhere warm like las veags where they have a pretty big party and at least its warm there and I could gamble now thats where I would want to be.

Yeah, that would be my choice. The winds here are blowing at 50 - 60 miles per hour and the temps are below freezing. Actic weather here for the beginning New Year, I do not think there would be enough layers of clothing to keep me warm tonight with this weather.

I would not stand around in freezing weather to watch the ball drop. I certainly would not be out there 11 1/2 hours before the ball drops. I feel like crap today, so I will probably be asleep when the ball drops which is before midnight here in CST.
