What sorts of toppings do you add to your ice cream?

Despite different "fixin's" already coming in your favorite ice cream, do you still add to the delicious treat? I personally love cookie's n' cream ice cream. I never really added anything to it because I thought it was tasty enough the way it is. But, my bf decided to get me a bowl and make it his way =] He basically made it into a sort of sundae minus the banana. He added strawberry syrup, chocolate syrup, and cherries to accompany the already delectable flavors. And, I must admit it was even better than before. It might have tasted a little better with some banana slices, but was still great all the same. i got some more ice cream afterward, and just made a pepsi float with the cookie's n cream. That tasted pretty good too =] Do you dare to add more ingredients to your already tasty treat?

Bananas are a great add especially if there isn't anything else to add! And they're healthy too =]

Usually, I like just plain ice cream, however, I also like to mix cookie dough or cake batter in with it sometimes. I do love fruit as well, but for me that goes better with yogurt than it does with ice cream. We have a place here that makes tremendous hot fudge sundaes, so they are nice to have occasionally. But usually if I am going to have ice cream, I usually just like to have it plain as for me, it has enough flavor on its own, and I am very much a "plain food" person like that! Unlike most people, my favorite flavor is vanilla!

I really like vanilla too even plain =] But usually if it's plain vanilla then it has to be "real" and not just flavored vanilla. Cookie dough and cake batter sound pretty good to add. You have a point that fruit does go really well with yogurt =)

My absolute favorite is hot fudge!! There was an ice cream parlor that made their own hot fudge sauce that was a very dark chocolate. They would serve the hot fudge sauce on the side and there was plenty of whipped cream on top...along with cherries and nuts. Every time I pass the place where the shop used to be I can still taste that wonderful hot fudge sauce!

Wow that sounds awesome! It's seems a shame they are not in business anymore though you say? It's so hard to find an good old fashioned place like that here where I live. At least one that won't charge you an arm and a leg for your treat =]

I like chocolate syrup and peanuts crushed if I have any. I also like bananas and fresh strawberries if I have any of those.
