If you have a choice, would you rather not have a cellphone?  

hello theredquill! If I still have a choice, I would still choose to have a cellphone. Cellphone is very helpful to us. Although I agree with you that many have lost their lives because of cellphones, it still depends upon the person. I use my cellphone for business only and for some important matter. So I don't think my life would be easier again without cellphone.

I was robbed two years ago because I was toting a fancy celphone. I was a bit miffed that a stupid thing almost cost me my life. After that incident, I didn't immediately go out to buy a new celphone. I actually spent 4 months without a celphone. And it was one of the best months of my life because there wasn't anyone bugging me, no txt's bugging me. If someone needed me, they called me up on the landline or simply showed up at work or at home. It was like a de-stressing period for me. You never realize how beholden you are to a gadget until you lose one. I did buy a replacement celphone afterwards, but my attitude towards celphone has significantly changed because of that experience. I no longer buy the newest model when it hits the market, I just use a simple one. I no longer rush to my cel everytime the message tone beeps or everytime it rings. I am more relaxed now and comforted in the thought that whatever txt it is, it can wait.

I cannot imagine my life without a cellphone.I feel handicapped without it.If I do have a choice I will still have a cellphone.
It is the only way I can stay in touch with all my school friends and also my parents as I have to stay away from home because my college is in another city.So,going without a cellphone for even a day will surely drive me mad.I really cannot afford to not have it.:)

Hello there, it always depends from person to person and personal experience. Bascially, i would prefer to have a mobile phone always with me, the reason is, this particular gadget keeps me connected with my friends abroad, with my family when am out of home, and its now a days mobile even keep me relaxed via its music players and i can take picture of particular events that i have witnessed. If no mobile, i ll have to carry a player to listen to music and a camera to take pictures, and to communication i ll have to look for another option. So what do you think about that??

yeah i had same experience as you had. and so i wanted not to have cellphone if only i would not need it. i am not any more excited or happy having a cellphone as i did before when i had my new phone. now it seems like i can live without it and will not bother at all if i will not be able to hold a cellphone for a long time.

I've had my first mobile phone when i was in 6th grade.. imagine, i've been using this small gadget for so many years and i don't think i can live without it.. it's a necessity nowadays..

I like cellphones. I would not choose a life without a cellphone. That is because firstly I am addicted to it, and secondly, I feel it's extreme necessity. But there is one thing I would like to avoid. The cell phone radiation. This electromagnetic radiation can kill thousands, and render more people sick. It can cause deadly tumors, and thus I want the new generation cell phones to reduce this risk.

I hate it when those irritating service messages come when I'm enjoying a quiet walk with my girlfriend. My mood goes off when I go out with my girlfriend and my dad calls and asks where I'm. But I love my cell phone to contact her whenever I miss her. I love my cell phone when her network is not available and I can text her so that it gets delivered as soon as she is in network telling her I'm worried. Ya the robbery things go on around in my areas too but it only teaches me to take care of my things...
As an answer to your question, I would say, I like my cell phone and I cant live without it but I wish I could switch it off without hurting anyone's feelings...

I don't think I could live without my phone becasue I use it everyday. For texting/phoneing friends and its a really good way of keeping in touch. I have not been robbed of mine before and I hope it doesn't happen but I suppose it could happen to any of our gadgets.

Its a really good way of keeping in touch plus I think its much easier and quicker than writing a letter. Although you could use e-mail. So I think it is quite an important part in a lot of peoples lives
