Do you give your child a gift with or without a reason?  

i love to buy toys for my kid out of the blue. sometimes though i tend to overdo this and she ends up acting a little spoiled. i guess i have to control my gift giving sometimes. a little something on occasion won't hurt :)

I buy gifts for my boys for no reason at all. But I definitely mandate myself to buy them gifts if there is a special occasion. There are times that I buy them gifts because they mentioned that they wanted to have a certain toy or item, sometimes its because I find the toy educational and very helpful for my kids' development. Most of the time, I buy them food as I go home from the office. I don't know if that is considered as gifts though.

When I was a kid, my parents will always give my sister and I presents even if there is no special occasion!
And it's really fun to look forward and we are both motivated to be good and responsible all the time! LOL!
I am sure your boy loves it and he will grow as a loving and kind kid as it reflects I believed!

You know i'm too young to own a kid.But i alwasys buy gifts to my nephew(my older sister's son).I love him very much,and he is as cute as your baby include the looks.

in fact,under many cases,i give others presents without any reason. just because this present is very beautiful and i think someone would be very happy to receive it.
we do not need a reason to give others presents.
maybe the biggest reason is that they will be very happy and grateful when receive our presents.

Yes, I do. I think it helps to give them incentive to receive something unexpected from time to time. My son is 12 going on 13 and he has recently started using body sprays, so today when I was out grocery shopping, I picked him up a new one. It was only a few dollars, but it made his day and gave him something to look forward to using tomorrow when he goes to school. It lets him know that I love him and think about him even when he's not there.

Hi youless, other than giving gift to my kid during his birthday and festival I do like giving him a gift or any gift he asks for. This is the best way to encourage him if he behaves himself really well in his school work or any other performance.

You are right, I do the same thing. Sometimes if I come across any new gadget which is good in enhancing the knowledge and information for kids, some sort likes the one you bought for your son, I usually would pay for it straight away and give it as a gift to my son. Of course I will give him a good reason why I give him the gift.

Yeah, every kid loves gift as well as that which is new and not familiar to them. The curiosity of a Kid can drive and motivate him to learn lots of new information from the new gadget he has received.

There's nothing wrong when you're at the store or out and about and find a little something that you know one of your little ones would enjoy. After all, I as an adult would love it if someone or anyone would stop by and say "hi" to me on any of my internet pages. It's the small things that matters...plus, it's a great way of making memories.

My 12 year old son and I have never really been as close as my 13 year old daughter. We used to spend so much money doing this or that...when in two weeks, I just had to spend $6 on a used video game that both he and I can enjoy. After we're done with one, we buy another one...a gift really for the both of us.

Yea, i will give gifts to children without any reason, and some times because of reasons. I do not think we have to wait for reasons and such things to give gifts to our children, Its our children is it?, anything will not be more...
