Getting stuck in the snow  

It's a good thing you had others there to help you.

I keep an emergency pack in my car at all times. It includes winter gear such as boots and gloves.

i reuse point blank to drive in the snow, sports cars and snow dont go well together, if it snows i walk or stay in that is that there is no way i try to use the car, we live on a big hill too, i watch all the cars sliding down it in the snow and think no thanks im not joining you

I was raised on a ranch, although I live in France now. I remember when I was younger feeding cattle, hauling hay in a 4x4 truck, chained up on all 4's, and still getting stuck sometimes. When you get stuck in those conditions it takes a long time and a lot of work to get out!

What you mean that you guys and gals down south don't keep a go pack in your car? A go pack would be the emergency can of gas, the booster cables, a booster battery, a blanket, some non perishable food, road flares etc.

In Quebec snow tires are mandated by law and probably soon our province as well.

As for flats in winter... can't say that I am "that" brave!

i'm sooooooooooooo there was somone there to help you. you'd brrn up the creeek if you had been buy yourself & noone around.what if you'd had to walk home in thoses flats?? glad it turned out o.k. take your boots!!!

Good thing you weren't too far from home and had help around. I always keep a pair of rubber boots, gloves and a hat in the trunk in the winter. But we always have bad weather too. After you walk a time or two in it it doesn't take long to prepare a little bit! LOL We're all rain right no but the later it gets the colder so snow is in the making for morning.

Wow it sounds like you've had a day of it. I am glad you were finally able to get your car unstuck. I wish we would get some snow here in Indiana. All we have been getting is rain, rain, & yes more rain. If we even get a drop of snow the rain comes soon after & washes it all away.

I have a question. If the church is having an event why didn't they clear the snow from the parking lot before any one arrived? They should also have spread salt too. Surly someone has a snow blower? Any way it was good That there were a lot of men to try to push you out. and good that a fella with a 4 wheel drive to come along so you got pulled out. Now what about when you go back to get your husband? Hopefully you won't get stuck again and go properly dresses.

I don't live in a snow-belt area anymore and I usually miss it until I read accounts like yours. Then I remember why I wanted to move south to begin with. I got stuck enough times that during the winter I always kept a 50 pound bag of cat litter, gloves, an old blanket and rubber overboots in the trunk. Many times I remember using my floor mats under the tires for traction too, at least until one got stuck in the tirespin and went shooting off to who-knows-where one night...and it was my favorite Garfield one too....lol.

Yep boots and gloves would be a lovely touch. I did laugh at you because this is typical of something I would do and oh did I forget to tell you I very seldom wear socks.
