What A Naughty Boy - Neighbours complained - ooops  email this discussion to a friend?

Many of you know I have a puppy called Ziggy. At night I usually crate and cover him but he is getting bigger so I thought I would let him have the run of the kitchen. Well I had forgotten to lock the back door and he managed to open it and keep the neighbours awake all night by barking and playing, he had bought in plastic garden chairs, pieces of would, a water can and all sorts. Oh he had so much fun. I didn't here a thing as I sleep at the other end of the house. I got a shock when I came down in the morning. When the neighbours knocked I apologised and said it was a one off and explained what had happened but the one that moaned the loudest made me laugh cos when her dog was alive it would be all night every night and I just got used to it and never complained. Oh well. So what sort of mischief has your pet been up too lately? Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi Catgotmytongue, Oh I had to laugh too but I hadn't realised he had kept the neighbours awake until later, just thought he had opened the door and was in and out. LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

What is horrible about the incident is that it is soooo cute that you can't scold the dog! We had a poodle that could open the sliding glass door...so we learned very quickly to keep it locked or else the rose bushes would be stubs by morning.

When the Rottweilers were puppies one of our neighbors gave us her old patio furniture pads for the dogs to lay on. Rocky the brother got a silly streak going one day and by the time I heard him growling and making odd noises it looked like a blizzard in our back yard. The stuffing from the chase lounge pad was flying everywhere!!! lol It took me two hours to get it cleaned up!!! I will say that I was in total awe, because he was only 6 months old at the time and weighed about 45 pounds. But I stood on the patio and laughed like an idiot and wished I had a video camera handy because he would shake it for awhile and then loose his balance and fall over which made him mad and he'd scramble up and shake it harder for causing him to fall. Which of course made him fall again and get madder... The neat point about it all is that both Rocky and his sister Kitty wouldn't hurt a soul and I taught them water rescue (I live right on the shores of a recreational lake). I lost Rocky 9 months after my Mom died, and Kitty died two years later...I miss both of the crazy idiots tons!!

Hi Lovebear, So much loss but so many happy memories to eh! I can just picture Rocky with the cushion from the chair and the insides scattering everywhere. They have so much fun don't they, but we are the ones that have to clear it all up. Thanks for sharing. Huggles. Ellie :D

Loverbear, I may have your dog reincarnated. Just joking. The little rott. in my photo did the same thing to my chair outside...fuzz everywhere! I can also relate to catgotmytongue's dog...the same little pup brings in bricks, tree limbs, etc. into my house through the back door!

Hi Loud, Yep he managed to open the door and have an adventure all night long LOL. Ziggy hasn't worked out how to open the goody box yet. Della sounds like a character bless, but don't most girls love chocolates. Huggles. Ellie :D

When my dog was alive I used to just open the door and she walked herself.
I live in an apartment complex and it was not the right thing to do but sometimes I wasn't ready to go out.
She chased all the Neighborhood cats around and got in peoples garbage that they put in front of there doors. Nobody ever complaint to me though.
I would just blamed it on the cats.shocked

myLot reputation of 95/100. ellie333 (8047)   ranked 38 out of 7,860 in dogs  4 years ago

Oh Missybear LOL Fancy blaming the cats, but yes it usually is them in the garbage. Years ago I had two labs and one would take himself off for a walk round the block most days. He always escaped, should have called him Hudini. Huggles. Ellie :D

My 5 month old kitten Katie, had a thing for our Christmas tree. Not too out of the ordinary, I know. She even made it right to the top one day. EEK! It never looked quite right after that. Hopefully she won't be as into climbing the tree by next year.**fingers crossed**

She also really likes the dining room table. It drives me nuts seeing her on there. And of course, it's more fun when there's stuff on it (like papers and the boys' homework and such). I have a water bottle to spray her with, but it's not always an option, depending on what's on the table. I've caught her a few times, surfing on the table. She'll make a running jump and leap from the couch or one of the dining room chairs, land on some paper on the table, and go skidding across to the other side. Sigh! Papers sprawled everywhere! Funny, yes. But annoying at times too. LOL.

I've attached a pic of her on the back of the couch, overlooking the dining room table (taken on xmas eve). She looks so big and pudgy in the pic... but it's just the angle of the shot I guess.

Hi Canadagirl, Katie is absolutely gorgeous but seeing the pic close up you can see mischief in her eyes bless. Oh cats and Christmas trees, they do grow out of it, my two did and don't go near now but the puppy well he was a different matter this year, he would grab the baubles and run round the room with them, I would put back on and say leav it and the minute my back was turned grab another one LOL. I have a water spray bottle too but if homework on the table a bit difficult to squirt so yes I guess after a while for you it does get annoying. Thanks for sharing. Huggles. Ellie :D

That is so funny.
My dog Finn taught himself to open our backdoor as he spends most of the times outside. When he wants to come in he will grab the door knob with his mouth turn it and then push the door open. There was also a bag of stuffed toys in the shed were he sleeps he decided that it would be great fun to rip the bag open and rip all the toys apart. We went outside to find stuffing all over the back garden.
My kitten she also got a shock today. She was up at the hamster cage and was 'playing' with the hamster. The hamster bit her all we heard was a loud screech. Well she hasn't been near the cage since.
Hamster and kitten are both okay tho.

myLot reputation of 95/100. ellie333 (8047)   ranked 38 out of 7,860 in dogs  4 years ago

Hi Littleone, Oh I bet your kitten got a shock when the hamster bit her, at least she has learnt now not to go near the cage. Finn is so clever opening the door to come in like that, I think my puppy did it more by luck than judegment LOL. Pets are wonderful aren't they but they do get up to mischief. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hello ellie333

Well I got some baby guinea pigs a couple of months or so ago now and they had been living in a hutch until this weekend when I finally got them a proper cage. Well they run riot in this cage, moving the little house for them to sleep in around, throwing, yes throwing, the food bowl around (it's light plastic) and generally chasing each other around the cage at top speed, sawdust flying everywhere, it was so funny yet rather noisy!! LOl

myLot reputation of 95/100. ellie333 (8047)   ranked 38 out of 7,860 in dogs  4 years ago

Hi Humbug, Oh yes guinea pigs can be very noisy, I just love them, really miss mine, just have the rabbits now. They are so comical aren't they. Thanks for sharing. Huggles. Ellie :D

one of the brats, I mean kittens, I think fell out of the eyebrow window, she kind of stood there half stunned for a few moments before walking off. she was holding a foot in the air like it was hurt, but when she walked she didn't limp - I will be keeping an eye on it tho.

I had been myloting this morning and decided to go read my book.

I had to keep dumping Scamp off of on top of me (he weighs a good 12 lbs!) I had to shove cats out of my face while I read.

But when I got to the end of the book there was one classic scene that had me laughing so hard I managed to shake a bunch of cats off the bed!

myLot reputation of 95/100. ellie333 (8047)   ranked 38 out of 7,860 in dogs  4 years ago

Hi Elic, Must have been a good read. I hope the kittens paw is alright too but if not limping is probably okay eh! My Sybil shoves my hand out of the way when I am trying to read to get attention and a fuss and nips my ankles if I am in the kitchen if she wants feeding. LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ellie,

I think that is so funny. Many years ago when we first moved here and there were no fences then as it were a brand ne house, we had a puppu then and he just used to run atound the houses and it was hard to cath him, one day we had this neighbour you lefet his shoes out side his back door nd gues what happened? yep my dog had it, the funny thing was he knocked at my door to complain to me and as I stood at the front door listening to him my puppy was sitting next to him with the shoe in his mouth, it looked so funny, wished I had a camera but he didn't think so.Lol. Love and huggles.

Hi Tamara, Oh I bet that would have made a picture too, why is it we never have cameras at those moments in time. I bet the neighbour didn't leave his shoes out again until the fences were up LOL. Thanks for sharing. Huggles. Ellie :D

My dog barks a lot at night, no matter how much I try to quiet him. I walk him so he can burn off some energy, but he still barks. But my neighbor can't complain. She has a dog that does the same thing! : )

myLot reputation of 95/100. ellie333 (8047)   ranked 38 out of 7,860 in dogs  4 years ago

Hi AmbiePam, I think because he was actually out in the garden rather than shut indoors he was probably a lot louder too but I apologised and said why it had happened and they were okay with that. Some dogs do bark a lot and there one when alove did all night long every night but I suppose I am a heavier sleeper than them eh! At least both you and your neighbour have the same problem so no complaints. Huggles. Ellie :D

myLot reputation of 97/100. AmbiePam (20741)   ranked 24 out of 7,860 in dogs  4 years ago

Yeah, everyone is hesitant to complain here because almost everyone does something to annoy their neighbor. One may have a dog, and one may just stay up all night and a person can hear them when they live below. The same woman who has a dog above me that barks too, also stays up all night. I've heard her hammering at 1am in the morning. But I don't want to complain. Compared to the two occupants before her, she is NO trouble. lol

myLot reputation of 95/100. ellie333 (8047)   ranked 38 out of 7,860 in dogs  4 years ago

I think as I lived in a groud floor apartment for years with very noisy neighbours I am so used to noise now in the house I sleep through anything LOL.
