He is now officially the senator-designee of Illinois. What do you think? I think it is about time. He was chosen by the sitting governor of Illinois. Blagojevich had not yet been impeached, nor had he resigned. Burris is legally in the right, and I think it is a shame Harry Reid and the other senators were willing to ignore the law for so long. http://home.peoplepc.com/psp/newsstory.asp?cat=TopStories&referrer=welcome&id=20090112/496adc60_3ca6_1552620090112-183410491

Blagoyevich is innocent until proven guilty and is incharge until he is not. His pick was an excellent choice in the the game of politics as well as a choice in men. While Burris may not have been my first choice he would have been up there none the less. Having a man of color replace a man of color was great for the people.

That's what I think. Since the governor hadn't resigned or been impeached when he made the appointment, it was legal.

Reid and Peolosi didn't want a black guy in Congress, that's what it is.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us. This is the first I had heard about it. I have not been keeping up with it much.

Well I agree he had the right to appoint him. But considering the scandel that was going on at the time about his appointment of the position I do feel it was selfish of him to actually appoint someone. He had to have know that by appointing someone that person would be under a lot of scrunity and go through heck because of it. He should have handed the choice off to someone else. Just so something like this would not happen. Now that he has been impeached you know Burris is really going to have to show that he was not involved in the whole thing.
