I'm watching this cooking show and they making Frog Legs. They say it tastes like chicken. How come everything tastes like chicken. They say Rattlesnake tastes like chicken and so does Ali gator. What do you think? And why not just eat chicken then?

I often wondered that myself why people say that. I guess because chicken doesn't have a strong flavor and the other things don't either. Why don't they just say it tastes like frog, rattlesnake, whatever, or just that it doesn't have much taste to it.

I have had frog legs before, and yes they do taste kind of like chicken. I agree. If it all tastes like chicken why not just eat chicken. Chicken is cheaper and you don't have to eat so many chickens to get full. Frog legs are so small you would have to eat a bunch of them to actually fill up.

I wont ever try rattlesnakes or alligators. I am too tradiitonal when it comes too food. I prefer chicken and that its only what I am going to eat. I ll eave snakes or alligators for more brave daring eaters.

HI missy! Again girlfriend I'm with you! I have no idea why they say that everything tastes like chicken! I have no intention on eating anything but chicken! I don't want to eat frogs legs! I don't care if it tastes like chicken! I prefer to eat chicken and if that is the case then why eat the damn frogs legs? They are really tiny anyway! Ewwwwww!

I don't know about alligator or rattlesnake but frog legs are great. They don't taste exactly like chicken but similar.

I'll take all the froglegs you got. I don't think they taste like chicken, they say alligator taste like chicken too. I guess since they can't say it taste like beef or pork they say chicken because that is the closest thing they can compare it too. Froglegs and alligator are white meat, not dark like beef would be. I think each has it own taste, and to me that is not the taste of chicken. The 2 bes meals in the world if you ask me, but then I cajun so I would say that.

I had frogs legs once, they were cooked in garlic butter and yes they did taste like chicken. I think it is probably more to do with consistency and texture, because let's face it, chicken does not really have a strong flavour in itself. Can't say that I have had rattlesnake or aligator though, I would have thought they would have been a tougher meat than chicken. :)

I have heard of some of these things before and I have to agree with you. Why not just eat chicken then? After all I really like chicken and preparing it in different styles. I am sticking with chicken for now among the other meats that I know about!

Heyya missy! It's crazy how everyone always says everything that's not commonly eat tastes like chicken.LOL..It may be just so we won't be scared to try it they pick the most commonly eaten food to compare it to.lol..I have eat frog legs and alligator tail and to me they each have their own distinct tastes. Not at all like chicken. It is white meat like chicken and like the earlier post..it's texture resembles it but not so much the taste. Rattlesnake..I can't really say. I have heard that about turtle too.

I think you right about people just say chicken because it's common. I sure would like to try for myself some day. I wouldn't even no where to get Frog legs. I tried Rattle Snake because we went camping one time and my friends killed a Rattler so we cooked the Snake.
