My friend was asking me if I was looking forward to the 3 day weekend and I was thinking "what 3 day weekend"?? It turns out she gets Martin Luther King Jr day off and so do many people in her state.
However I've always worked that day at every job I've been at so I'm wondering - who gets MLK day off? Is it a schools-only thing? Is it a government thing? Do you get it off and if so what kind of company do you work for?
My next day off isn't until Good Friday which is a bit away! It would have been nice to have a day off in January though, just to stay home and avoid driving in the snow.

No, it is not a supported holiday at my job. I wish it was. I wish we had all federal holidays off. That would be sooooo nice. There are so many these days. People don't hardly have to work anymore. LOL!

So you are in the same boat as me. I don't know if my family members get it off or not (can't remember!) My mom works at a school but it's private so I don't even remember if she gets it off. Generally these types of holidays I don't even notice because I always worked, but when someone else gets it off it makes me want it to :)
