My watercolor  

I tried the piano, and I just have no musical talent.

I'm glad you like it. You have to know that my mom took care of it for me for several years until I could get it framed.

No, I want to pick it back up, but I went off to college then got a job and just didn't have time, space and supplies to continue then.

I'm working on getting those 3 things together again so I can start painting again.

I imagine that it would be something relaxing to do.

I don't know if it isn't stressful, watercolor is a very unforgiving medium, tho there is a kind of watercolor I really want to do again, a kind of wet/dry/ink medium.

I had wondered if that might be the case.

Why do you enjoy painting?

I like to produce something beautiful, and its stressfull when that doesn't happen.

Not at the moment. I am known to draw, and color, but I'm trying to get my act together to paint some more.

If you have a talent you should nurture it! Just saying! ;)

You know, I have a box of them sitting on my shelf, and I can't quite find the time to get to them.

Actually, painting is easier than drawing, you can be more general and still have something beautiful.

I did enjoy art, I was probably happier doing art than anything else. Then when I was a senior I did a handicrafts class that I just LOVED!

Thanks. I had a friend who was challenged by a straight line, but she could appreciate it. I have a painting by her father hanging in my front room where I can see it.

I have artwork by two aunts-in-law who were very talented. My sister was pretty good, as well as my brother. My artistic side comes with dance and decorating, not art. LOL

The sad thing is that I think I'm a better writer than artist.

I seem to remember I painted it from a picture, but the picture wasn't exactly the same, but kindda...

I can do horses, but cats are a whole other matter.

I remember when my neice was about 7 she drew a horse that was kind of a big "U" for the face. I then drew her a picture and she said she was going to keep it so she could use it for practice.

No idea how long that lasted. Never seen any art of any kind from the child since. Mind you, she's 23 now....

Well, so far I've only sold a couple of peices, and that was to a friend of my mom's. Now this woman collected art, but she had them in her guest room, not on her "gallery" wall. Still I felt very honored.

Well...just because they aren't on her gallery wall doesn't make them less. She liked them enough to buy them and has hung them in her house..for her guests to admire at that. I bet you haven't marketed much of your stuff either.If you did I bet it would be more than just a couple you sold.

Well, I don't know how long they hung, I know they hung for several years.

I know they aren't hanging now, she passed away in 07 and her husband has moved.

And I didn't think they were that special, but she insisted I sell them (and they were about the best I had done at that point except for one that got taken by the student teacher and went back to her school for display.)

Do you know where the paintings are now? I try to take pictures of mine before I let them go but I do have a piece of lost art that I wish I'd taken a pic of before I let it go.

No, mind you, I did the pictures in middle school - and I'm well into my 50's.
