FOX News biggest loser in 2008 election? |
| |
| I have noticed that Barack Obama has spoke to many different news outlets and reporters. But, one news outlet spent the last eight years getting white house exclusives, and many personal interviews with the Bush administration. I would like to know how you feel FOX News will adapt to being left out of all of the exclusives that they reaped during the Bush years? How long do you think it will take for them to start whinning? | | | | | |

| | I think FOX News will soon began its own reach across party lines campaign and declare itself misunderstood. Outside of that there are enough critics of Obama to keep FOX busy. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks for the response. I think you might be correct, I don't think that their ratings will stay strong after they are left out of all of the happening of the White House. I am sure that the die conservatives will continue, but I don't think that this will keep their ratings high. | | | |

| | I don't think it will impact them too much. MSNBC has been the Obama headquarters and yet their ratings are horrible. I expect the ratings to drop a bit for Fox News based solely on the fact that ratings were inflated by the election coverage. | | | | | | |

| | Did Bill O the clown ask for a federal investigation of the Nielsen ratings company due to the fact that MSNBC beat his show in the prime demographic during the election? I just wonder how they will react to the reality that republicans lost the White House, and they will no longer have a open door to the Oval office. | | | |

| | I've never seen any evidence that MSNBC ever beat Fox News in ratings. You have brought this up before and I've shown you proof on Nielsen's website that MSNBC didn't beat them in the ratings that week. I never heard O'Reilly say that so I don't know if you misheard him or if there was some context to it that you left out. The election ended back in November. McCain already lost. I don't know why you seem to think the election isn't over when you say "I wonder how they will react" | | | |

| | Taskr, I understand that, but explain to me why Bill O want's the investigation then? Bill O the clown was upset because of "wild swings" in the ratings, and claims that the Nielsen company is owned by liberals. This is Bill O's own words: "the bottom line is there may be some big-time cheating going on in the ratings system, and we hope the feds will investigate. Any fraud in the television rating system affects all Americans". That is from Bill O the clowns show on Oct. 25. Look it up Taskr, you will find it just like I did. Note: he never questioned the Nielsen system when he was on top, but now that this ratings are going down, we need to investigate. The reason I asked how they will react is because untill today they still have first choice access to the White House. As of today, they are not even in the top ten, and I am sure they will go through some withdrawl. I was just asking how much you think it will hurt their ego, and ratings? | | | |

| | Well it's an organization with a lot of people so I can't say how everyone's ego will be affected. They are all well aware of how Obama feels about Fox News. Whenever he refers to Fox News it's to talk about Sean Hannity. It's as though he thinks Hannity runs the entire network. He's not even a mascot. I don't think their ratings will be too greatly effected. They may be lower for a short while, but eventually the newness of Obama will wear off and people won't be as obsessed with him to the point of staring, eyes glazed over, as he talks about things they don't understand. As for O'Reilly and the ratings. I think he's become obsessed with ratings. I really didn't watch any political news between 2004 and 2008 after the last election, but when I used to watch him he never talked about ratings. Frankly, he's making a lot of money and there's certainly no sign of that slowing down so I really don't know why ratings are such a big deal to him unless it's because of his hatred towards MSNBC, and not as much about his own ratings. | | | |

| | I actually enjoyed listening to Bill O on his radio show, but I really don't like his television show. He is completely different on his radio show, he shows signs of that open minded personality at times on his show, but they are few and far between. On his radio show he is very open minded, and listens to everyones point of view before he puts in his two cents. On his TV show he doesn't let people speak, he just attacks them if they don't agree with him. I don't know why he talks so much about rating either, but I know that he is still mad about getting fired from Inside Edition. Maybe that is why he is so crazy about it. | | | |

| | Do you mean, whining, lol? No, Fox News won't whine, they've got too much class to do that. You obviously don't watch Fox News, or you'd know they cover both sides of any story-even politics. They let the viewer decide for themselves. Where were you when Bill O' Reilly interviewed Obama????? | | | | | | |

| | Is there more than one Fox News? Because the one I've seen certainly has no class and they sure as heck don't cover both sides of the story when it comes to politics, unless you mean the "right" (wing) side and the EXTREME right side...lol! Annie | | | |

| | You're absolutely right Annie. It's those right wing extremists like Geraldo Rivera and Alan Colmes. They just refuse to let anyone here a voice from the left. Of course we all know that Bill O'Reilly NEVER has any liberals on his show. He never argues with anyone who disagrees with him either. It's just a show with a bunch of conservatives who agree on everything. | | | |

| | Taskr, Alan Colmes is now gone, Geraldo is on once a week and from what I've seen of him lately he's definitely moved to the right and Bill O' the Clown drwons out anyone who disagrees with him and tries to make a$$es out of them. Annie | | | |

| | I am sorry I used the dictionary to look up the correct spelling, and thought it was wrong, but used it anyways. FOX has a long history of Whining, Bill O'Reilly was whining so much about MSNBC beating him in the ratings, he wanted a congressional investigation into the ratings company. Need we remind you of Fox's constant use of the term "main stream media". If FOX is so far and balanced, then why don't have have ONE show that is hosted by a Liberal? I listened to O'Reilly's attack on Barack Obama, I would call it more of an attack because Bill wouldn't let him answer the questions with out cutting him off because he didn't like the answer. I listen to Bill almost everyday at noon, and enjoy his commentary on his radio show, but I refuse to watch his show because it is nothing like the radio show. He is much more relaxed, and much more open minded. His TV show is a Hannity style attack show, and he should look at the difference and change. But that just goes to show you what he has to do for ratings on FOX news. | | | |

| | I predict it will take them until...drum-roll...Jan. 20 at 1:00 PM. Of course, they'll still be as right-wing as ever, at least for awhile until their ratings suffer, which I also predict they will. Annie | | | | | | |

| | FOX has been a media tool for the Bush administration, and the far right wing of the republican party. I am sure they will change because now they won't have any exclusive interviews with the president, or anyone important in the government. If you look at the shows on FOX, the only Propagandist they are missing is Rush. | | | |

| | actually Fox is the only network that provided fair even debate. republican vs. democrat. the other news stations had democrats talking about how bad bush was. And I have no idea where you get the idea that Fox is a mouth piece for Bush. Almost everyone on there has gone out against Bush for one reason or another. Hannity thought he was too much of a centurist, O'reilly didn't like his lax stance on immigration. Course you would know these things if you had ever watched Fox news, instead of just listening to what the other networks told you about Fox news. Also Fox news was the first to congratulate Obama on becoming president elect, when the others were still saying it wasn't over yet. Oh and Fox news didn't get first hand coverage of George W's whitehouse. The far left CNN had first dibs on coverage. CNN is what plays on all the tv's there, and they are the first to know what is going on. They were the first news network into Afghanistan, and Iraq. Followed by Fox, and NBC. Nothing will change at Fox news. They'll still get their same place in the press rooms, and they'll continue to be the same balanced news network they have been , cause its made them the most trusted news network to everyone right, left, and middle who has actually watched it. | | | |

| | Oh Red, if FOX is so fair and balanced, then show me one show that is hosted by a liberal? Many of the other networks that are considered to be bias have conservatives on their cable networks. Yet, the channel that claims to be fair and balanced, has only right wing conservatives has talk show host. | | | |

| | alan colmes, and geraldo rivera are 2 big name liberals on fox news that everyone should know. There are many other liberal correspondents on fox news. Its always 50 /50. Unlike the other networks where its liberal/liberal. Not only is there liberals in Fox news, but their guests are also often liberal. The other networks wouldn't have a right wing person on, and try to argue with them fairly. | | | |

| | Alan Colmes doesn't have his own show, and Geraldo Rivera isn't a liberal, he just doesn't agree with everything conservatives say. 50/50 at FOX? lets be honest here, it isn't even 90/10. CNN gave Glenn Beck his own show on one of their networks, MSNBC gave Tucker Carlson, and Joe Scarborough, CNBC is mostly conservatives. Yet, the most fair and balanced network on television doesn't have one show hosted by anyone other than a conservative republican. This is a fact. I have watched many interviews on CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, and FOX where both sides are represented. I have also watched interviews on FOX where there were no liberal point of view (when ever Hanity had any senior memeber of the Bush administartion on, it was just Hanity interviewing them, spewing their talking points while Sean agreed), so does that mean that FOX is also bias? | | | |
