Do you like the smell of leather bound books? How about just the smell of books in general? Do you have a sentimental smell? That smell that brings back a good memory anytime you smell it?

I just love the smell of books in general. If its a good story then the book and its smell becomes very special. I feel closure to the characters and the life which the story displays. Strange . Though I never tried to figure out why I feel so drawn to the books and the unique smell of its paper but now this is what I feel it could be. I also love the smell of new clothes, mainly if its cotton printed one. It has a smell very close to that of paper.

Don't bang your head too hard, Daffodil20, that is an easy mistake to make. :) I understand the smell of the book somehow drawing me into the story more.

i love reading and i love books, in general. i never had a leather bound book and reading your post made me wished that i want to have one but the thing is that here in our country, there is no such a thing in existence and if ever i found one, it would be very expensive for sure unless it has been handed down to me. wow, it would sure be nice to have one, even if it came from another country from a known author.WOW!

I love the smeall of leather bound book and books period. They remind me of a simpler time and from when I was a kid growing up and first developed a love of reading. Another sentimental smell for me is the smell of cinnamon. It reminds me of my Grandmothers kitchen. It always smelled like cinnamon or cinnamon and sugar. Yummy. It takes me right back to my childhood.

I really haven't taken a whiff of one...so can't tell you how it should smell. It's been a long time since I have even seen one that is leather bound! Mostly paperbacks now.

Why thank you, Rosekitty. Thanks for responding to them all. Haha, I'd probably find something embarrasing at the bottom of my old high school purses. I hope I never dig up one of mine.

I love the smell of leather bound books, but I guess you know that, I am a writer, but I also love smells I associate with home, like a fresh green pepper, freshly cut grass and johnson and johnson babies own soap.

I love that dusty/musty smell of books. It makes me happy and I loved hangning out in the college library because of the smell.

Hi, ElicBxn. There was a particular area in my college library that smelled more of books than anywhere else and I loved to grab a table in that area whenever I could.

I'm absolutely in LOVE with the smell of books. It doesn't matter if they're old or new - when I get them, it's not uncommon to see me flipping through the pages while taking a deep breath. People think I'm weird, but I don't care. I agree that leather bound books have the best scent. The smell of books leads me to my childhood. I used to use books to escape harsh realities, and now I write them in hopes to do the same for others.

The smell of rain on soil brings memories of long talks with my dad when I was a kid. He loves to sit outside and watch a storm roll in and I would sneak out for some quality time with him.

Not just leather bound books but just new books in general always smell nice. It's just a fresh clean scent. Some of my older books I had as a kid always bring back good memories whenever I open them up.

I just like the smell of leather, in general. Do you have a sentimental smell? Not sure, you would have to ask the people who go around smelling me.

I have a leather coat and a pair of leather pants that Hubby got me .........oh, sheesh, I don't even know how long ago. Sometimes I get them out of the closet just to smell them. Yeah, I'm kind of freaky that way.*LOL*

I do love to smell really good leather, it does bring back memories of some kind but I am not sure of what.. One thing that does bring back memories is the smell of crayons.. When I smell crayons, I am instantly transported back to my school days, when I was in grade school.. I have had to visit school with my son when he was younger and as soon as you walked in the school, you could smell the crayons.. They do bring back good memories..
