China Economy Grows To World's 3rd Largest--Japan is 2nd. USA is Number 1! It could take decades for China to catch up with the USA. Merrill Lynch economist suggested that China could be ahead of Japan in just 3 or 4 years. And to think that they USA helped make that happen. Here we are receiving bad goods from China every day while we make them rich. But it all starts with you and me. If we continue to buy Chinese goods our economy will go down. I don't buy anything from China. Do something for your country and just say, "NO!" If you think of it, it is hard to believe that USA is number 1.

I am neither Chinese nor American. I was just curious if there is no other way where both the countries can win. If it hurts China ultimately it may hurt US too. Just a thought...

If the point is primary about not finding American made shoes, I won't be much bothered... I might just say so what's the problem if we have better and cheaper shoes. But if quality is compromised that becomes an issue.

It is not just shoes...that is one example. However, if you want to see what has happened to the feet of some people who have bought flip flops and shoes made in China...do a little research...and before you know it....you will become concerned. The terrible things that have happened to people who have bought products made in China...don't just happen to other people. Aside from that, we need to return those jobs to the American people.

The problem is that it has gotten to the point where you cannot even find American made shoes. We need at least a compromise. A lot of Chinese goods are being recalled for being dangerous.

I don't see Taiwan as much as China. Taiwan does not have as many recalls as China. I long for American made items. It is very rare to find an item made in the USA. When I do, the price is really high. As a result, I do not spend as much money as I used to.

And it is difficult. I am so hungry for mandarin oranges, but every can and jar I have picked up, come from China. I desperately need a new pair of sneakers. I cannot find any not made in China. The ones I used to buy are now made in China. What I do is replace the insoles...however that does not help the outside. Yes, there are stores closing everywhere...which means fewer jobs...and here we are giving all these jobs to a country that cannot even give us decent goods.

It is hard to believe America is number. Actually, I'm not sure if not buying Chinese goods is a good idea. We owe China a lot of money and if we don't buy their goods, they may want their money back.

I guess someone else will have to buy those Chinese flip flops.

I doubt decades, but we are at fault for not having a strong industry like we had when we ascended to #1... however... USA supremacy is dwindling considering how China buys 3/4 of our debt
