| |  it's ok. i moved to the Greensboro area and spent 3 years but we didn't really care for it. Then we moved to the Cary area and we like it much better. It is more like Long Island. Guess it is because there are a lot of northerners

| |  I was born and raised in NC and I still live here now. I have flirted with the idea of moving only once (to Florida) for a better job. I enjoy NC. The fact that I can take off one weekend and go to the coast or head to the mountains is a plus for me. I do live in an area that is considered rural but I live close enough to the city that I can still enjoy the night life or shopping. I am a die hard Tarheels Fan as well as rooting for the Carolina Panthers! I do like NC!

| |  North Carolina is a wonderful state. I'm a little biased, because I'm a native born in Raleigh. Many people from all over the US have discovered it as well; it seems like they are moving here in droves! We still have small towns, rural communities, and the best of both worlds...beach and mountain access in one state. Love it.
