I don't have any kids, but there are quite a few I hope to pass on to my nieces someday. I loved all the Judy Blue books; Little House on the Prairie, Chronicles of Narnia, and even the Flowers in the Attic series once they get to be in their teens.

I don't know if I have ever read Anne of Gables, but I have seen some of it on television and enjoyed it!

I just got my son into the little house books. He gets graded on reading books with the points and reading levels they are on. I found out that he liked the show and when we found out that they were based on truth, it made it more fun to read about. I loved shel silverstein books and my favorite is The Giving Tree. I've read it 10's of thousands of times to my kids and myself and I still cry. I have great memories at the time when I got the book and it takes me back to that time. I also loved the nursery rhyme(sp) books. Jack be nimble.... My daughter loves the Golden Book series and my sons love the Lemony Snicket books. We like to read in this house and I am thankful for that. Like I told my kids, you can be who you want to be in real life with hard work and determination, but you can be who the character is in the book in seconds.

It was Little House in the Big Woods that I have read when I was a child. Laura is both amusing and endearing. I also read Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. We had this 10-volume collection of Bible stories which I never got to finish reading because I always read the same stories about Esther over and over again. The Sweet Valley Kids series was such a hit when I was a kid, my friends and I collected as many as we can.

But my favorite childhood book would have to be Louisa May Alcott's Little Women.

Although if I had children, I would also like them to read Natalie Babbit's Tuck Everlasting to have a better appreciation for life and living it to the fullest.

I loved reading noddy ,The Famous Four,The Secret Seven Enid Blyton books some of them got handed down but many my mum threw away as we grew out of them,a shame really it would have been nice to hand these books on to my kids.

I love the 'Little House' books. I still have them and reread them a couple years ago. I also loved 'Sweet Valley Twins,' and 'The Babysitters' Club.' Both are series books. Most of those books were given to my nieces.

I also loved Dr Seuss, and I do read those to my son. He likes them.

Hi Cher, Mine was a collection of Winnie The Pooh Stories which I kept and read to my girls when they were younger and they in turn handed down to my youngest son recently. I make sure it is always top shelf so pages don't get torn etc and will read a couple of stories each week from it. Another series that I use to love was The Famous Five and all their adventures. when I was younger I use to read the babysitters club. I have passed this on to my daughter. she loves them. she recently did a reading project on one of the books. Got a 100 :) I also read "mrs frisby and the rats of NIMH" my son just read this book for his reading project and loved it. I'm going to introduce him to the book "of mice and men" and "the outsiders" I think he'll like those books.

I read "Little House on the Prairie" as well. I also liked the Bevery Cleary books -- she's known best now for the Ramona series -- though when I read her it was more Henry Huggins. Beezus and Ramona were rather minor characters in Henry's stories. I also like the "Henry Reed" series and I love "The Enormous Egg." My favorite was "Winnie-The-Pooh": I've always had a soft spot for stuffed toys, and a whole forest of "living" stuffed toys was just beyond wonderful for me

I read jack and the beans stalk, cinderella and other fairy tales.Loved Haans Christian Handersons collections.My child loves to hear me reading then for him.I keep all his story books properly maintained so that my grandchildren could read them some day!!!!
