Show Me the Economist Who Says We Are In a Crisis from lack of Birth Control  email this discussion to a friend?

Here's a nice article I read that should remind you all exactly where the Democrat's priorities are when faced with an economic crisis. Why do those morons in California keep reelecting Pelosi?

By Andrea Tantaros
Republican Political Commentator/FOXNews.com Contributor

In perhaps the most absurd move yet by the current Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is defending her move to include hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer money in the stimulus plan to expand family planning services — arguing that it will help financially strapped states.

Yes folks, her brain has now officially gone numb.

“…this is a, to stimulate the economy, is an economic recovery package and as we put it forth we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy. Food stamps, unemployment insurance, some of the initiatives you just mentioned. Believe it or not, they’re the right thing to do but they also stimulate the economy,” Pelosi told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week,” who unsurprisingly didn’t press her on how exactly she deduces this notion.

In Pelosi’s world, less mouths to feed equals less money states will have to spend. Show me one economist that says that we are in an economic crisis because of a birth control shortage, or one that says more contraception (aka: population control) will get us out of it faster. What’s next? Federally funded euthanasia?

Rise and shine, Republicans. My prediction that Obama, Reid and Pelosi would present an opportunity for the GOP has already come true.

Republicans aren’t the only ones shaking their heads in disbelief at Pelosi’s latest perplexing policy push. She will likely make many Democrats horribly uncomfortable. It’s one thing to be pro-Choice; it’s another to spend tax payer money on abortions at home — and abroad — in the middle of a financial crisis. And it’s my hunch it won’t take the American people long to figure out what’s going on. This means big problems for our new president, who just last week reversed the Mexico City policy which federally funds overseas abortions.

As I’ve argued before, Obama’s biggest short-to-medium-term problem isn’t Republicans — disorganized, dispirited, and unsure of their footing and without decisive leadership — his problem is the members of his own party who are determined to implement a radical agenda that will eventually alienate middle America. It is a stale, shopworn agenda that is bereft of new ideas, and it could end up creating major problems for the president and the Democratic Party by ultimately wakening conservatives from their stupor.

Rise and shine, Republicans. My prediction that Obama, Reid and Pelosi would present an opportunity for the GOP has already come true.

Liberals are more likely to seek abortions, and a world with less liberals in it certainly can't be a bad thing.

Okay, that was mean. Sorry. I'm feeling mean today.

I don't understand some of the additions to the stimulus plan, either.

If too many mouths to feed is one of our economic problems, what's their excuse for not getting rid the all the illegals? Aren't they the ones who are having most of the babies?

Am I to take you to mean more people to feed and for whom to provide health care does NOT cost more money? I didn't see the show you mention here but I doubt that Pelosi said a shortage of birth control is totally responsible for our economic crisis, or did she? If she did, you're right, that is absurd; if you're exaggerating and she only said it was a part of the problem then I have to say I agree with her. Do you think family planning services are not important? There are poor people who are uninformed about birth control and who can't afford it. Do you think this problem should just be ignored and what would you suggest is done with the babies that are born into poverty?

I actually just finished watching it again a minute ago. Basically she said that states economies are struggling and the reason is because they are dealing with the cost of health care for children as well as education costs. She said giving $200,000,000.00 to fund birth control and family planning (read: abortion), will reduce the cost to the state. There is NOTHING to indicate that flooding Planned Parenthood and similar organizations with money will do anything to help the economy. There are plenty of DIRECT ways to help the economy with $200 million dollars to throw around.

This is a piss poor way to further her pro-abortion agenda. Birth control is important and should be available to people who need it, but the fact is that is already IS available. The people who aren't using condoms, are the ones who wouldn't bother to get the free condoms anyway. There is no evidence that childbirth is a factor in our current economic situation.

That's why the title is "Show me the economist who says..."

Abortion and birth control have been available since 1973 and yet we still have poor people. Apparently, it's worse now than it's ever been.

Wow, I just don't understand it. Why won't those poor people just abort themselves out of existence already? I guess we need to put more money into encouraging those poor people to get more abortions.

It is against the concept of Republicans to mention, breath or think about birth control, much less allow it. The apointee to the FDA by Bush advises women who have problems with PMS and menopause to read their bible. Somehow I think that besides reading our bible there are medical advances in the field of hormones and women's health that we can and should anticipate federal programs to provide our women (especially the FDA). This is purely example of the backward and arrogant self centered single mindedness of Bush and his cronies and I feel reflective of the Repblican mindset.

TASKR....Why don't you just shut up and wait and see what the Obama adminsitration can do. Your party had eight years things are far worse than they were before. You are in no position to point fingers without them being chopped off.

"It is against the concept of Republicans to mention, breath or think about birth control, much less allow it."

Get off your freaking soap box kitten. Republicans are not opposed to birth control at all. That has NEVER been a stance by the republican party. Being opposed to abortion is COMPLETELY different since republicans don't see murdering an unborn child as birth control even if you do.

"The apointee to the FDA by Bush advises women who have problems with PMS and menopause to read their bible."

I'd LOVE to see where that was said. I'm not saying someone didn't say it, but if you're going to make that statement, I want some proof. At the very least allow me to call the person an idiot. Frankly though, I think you're making it up.

"TASKR....Why don't you just shut up and wait and see what the Obama adminsitration can do. Your party had eight years things are far worse than they were before. You are in no position to point fingers without them being chopped off."

This is AMERICA kitten. I will ALWAYS voice my opinions. In my opinion only a complete idiot would think giving $200,000,000.00 to BIRTH CONTROL would stimulate our economy. Are YOU stupid enough to think that birth control stimulates the economy or did you just post here because you like being nasty and bashing anyone who isn't pro-abortion? FYI, democrats have been in control for the last 2 years and that's when our economy started to plummet.

myLot reputation of 31/100. zydecokitten (305)   ranked 2,943 out of 3,985 in politics  4 years ago

TASKR, Up until now, I had some reason to think you knew a little about what you were talking about. Now I have no reason to think you know what you are talking about. If you do not know about what I posted you do not know what the party you are supporting is about, it's basic premise. I think you should do the research honey. You are not paying attention, and have not been which is why you mouth off here.

myLot reputation of 60/100. Taskr36 (6780)   ranked 284 out of 3,985 in politics  4 years ago

Kitten, you're just delusional. You make up claims and then tell me that I should research them? How can I research your lies when you don't even have so much as a stupid blog to back you up, much less a respectable source? I know EXACTLY what party I'm in. Unlike you I don't blindly support everything my party does and stands for. I believe most republicans are against teaching contraceptives in public schools. I disagree with them on that. However, the Republican party has NEVER been against USING birth control That is, unless you are one of those pro-abortionists who consider abortions birth control.

By the way, I'm still waiting to see someone show me how birth control, or for Pelosi Population Control, will stimulate the economy.

Nancy Pelosi, a Malthusian?? Who would have thought!

myLot reputation of 45/100. murderistic (1046)   ranked 835 out of 3,985 in politics  4 years ago

I just wanna say.
Although I am pro-choice, I am anti-abortion. And I don't agree that the state should be funding abortions in the US. Family planning, sure, makes sense, and if money is going to Planned Parenthood and other family planning centers that offer abortion that's fine, but non of that funding should be given directly to abortion doctors or women that want an abortion. With all of the families longing to adopt a new born baby, it seems ridiculous that the state would fund abortion. I am by no means a Darwinist or a Malthusian and I don't agree that making cruel decisions to stop overpopulation is by any means a rational thing for the state to do. What if someday it becomes cheaper for a woman to get an abortion than to go on birth control because of state funding? I just can't see anything good coming out of that.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  4 years ago

Planned Parenthood is the nation's largest abortion provider. Any money they get will be primarily used to perform abortions.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  4 years ago

You and I rarely agree on anything but we agree on this. The idea behind this state sponsored "family planning" is to encourage poor people to get abortions so the state has less mouths to feed. On the surface it seems smart but when you break it down it's downright evil.

myLot reputation of 45/100. murderistic (1046)   ranked 835 out of 3,985 in politics  4 years ago

It's not necessarily true that it would be largely used to fund abortion, if the money was given blindly, sure, but if there is oversight and proper documentation as to where the money was going it is possible to prevent that. I go to Planned Parenthood because I don't have health insurance that covers gynecology visits and PP is the only place (that I know of) that offers assistance based on income.

myLot reputation of 60/100. Taskr36 (6780)   ranked 284 out of 3,985 in politics  4 years ago

"if the money was given blindly, sure, but if there is oversight..."

Yeah, because the government has proven to be so skilled at oversight. What was that bailout money spent on again?

Either way birth control doesn't stimulate the economy. Any money saved by fewer births wouldn't be seen for several years since it takes 9 months for a child to be born and at least another 4 years afterwards before the child begins school. You could also factor in long term that less births means less taxpayers in the future.

myLot reputation of 48/100. sndcain36 (2691)  3 years ago

Abortions constitute over 90% of Planned Parenthood's business.
